Well, if you're going to withdraw the exchanged BTC as soon as possible (from the exchange), then the risk should be very low.

First of all, I know online wallets are inherently unsafe, but  my internet connection is so slow that I cant wait for the litecoin client to synch with the network and I plan to exchange them as soon as I mine them, at least in the beginning. Is there any litecoin online wallet? I googled about and seems that btc-e is recommended, as vircurex, even when they are not wallets, but exchange sites. But btc-e seems to be facing some trust issues. Any other choice or suggestions?

If you want just exchange to Bitcoin, move altcoins from pool to exchange and only withdraw BTC. This is what I doing
