I've made small tool for checking virtual currencies rate - LTC and BTC to dollars. This application was written in few minutes so It's only in beta stage. I will add more options or currencies If needed.
This application uses btc-e api. You need .net framework 3.5 to run. It is suitable only for Windows 7/8 now.

You can set update interval, default is 5000ms.
Just select LTC/USD or BTC/USD, set interval (min.1000ms) and minimize application. You will see live currency rate in taskbar.
