All of this is avoided by actually researching your investments beforehand. Scammers would be out of a job if people would just think a little.

I can't even imagine such a scenario where a Bitcoin entity goes under, vanishes, liquidates, etc., then a nefarious body, possibly attached to said entity, comes along to save the day.

It wouldn't happen to Bitcoins but it would happen to companies that work using Bitcoins (I would even say it is more likely to happen in those companies).
