I have 4x LuckyMiner LV06's, and I indeed flashed the AxeOS firmware via the BitAxe GitHub repository and it bricked it. I had to solder some TTL pins to the board and flash the firmware that way. I did this on all four of my miners and they've been hashing nicely for a month. Or course if you was going to do this, I would wait a couple months to make sure it's not going to die prematurely.

I've seen no evidence online to speculate it's doing anything out of the ordinary. It mines just fine using the firmware they ship with. I just wanted to use firmware that was open source instead of closed source.

As for the wallet address, any should work fine as long as it's supported by the pool you're mining on.

I just bought a LuckyMiner LV07 Smiley.
I am a total noob and new in the scene (I used to mine DOGE in 2014 on my PC). I bought it from Aliexpress.
The vendor specifically tells me not to update the firmware or the miner will not work.
This raised alarm bells for me because maybe he has flashed an altered firmware on this miner or am I just being too paranoid?

Also, just to be sure: I generated a paper wallet for BTC which is a Bech32 address. Will this work for mining or do I need different formatting?

Thanks for your input !
