I don’t think Pep Guardiola or Manchester City supporters were prepared for this drastic drop in performance. I believe Manchester City will bounce back from this. I laugh at anyone who says Pep should be sacked because City is doing as well as they normally would. People forget the times before Pep arrived at Manchester City. How many trophies have Manchester City won before Pep came into the picture? City should be grateful that they are champions because of Pep and they shouldn’t delude themselves into thinking that they could have achieved the same results with another manager.
Nobody expected a drastic quick drop from Manchester City like they did in latest matches. Before this season, people could predict a difficult season for Manchester City because they did not have a good replacement for De Bruyne, but nobody expected a severe injury of Rodri who is very important in their squad operation.
There are more issues in their squad by ageing effects and they made mistake by selling Julian Alvarez too. Two seasons ago, they sold Cole Palmer who become one of brighest young star in Premier League now. Many problems come from ageing, lack of enough preparation in player resource, and bad transfer strategy recent seasons, put Manchester City in a big crisis now.
Pep will choose his right time to leave Manchester City, maybe at the season ending. I don't believe that he will stay with them, because he's smart enough to know rebuilding a successful squad like past 7 seasons is not easy.
I don't think you know Pep Guardiola very well, because if you do, you will understand that Pep Guardiola doesn't run from challenges. He said it himself that he likes challenges, because challenges makes him work better and help him improve. For your information Pep Guardiola just signed a new contract that will keep him at Manchester city till 2027. So he is not leaving anytime soon. You are right about the aging issue in the Manchester city squad, and that is what has contributed greatly to their recent slump in form. Manchester city problem is not coming from the striking position, so the sale of Julian Alvarez is not in any way contributing to their problems.
Manchester city challenge is mostly coming from midfield. When your midfield is not functioning properly it will affect other departments of the squad. Manchester city is nothing without Rodri and Kelvin. They haven't been without these two players this long in the past, Pep never imagined that the duo of Kelvin and Rodri will be out this long, if not they would have been more prepared during the summer. Just watch out what will happen when the January transfer window opens. It is then you will understand that there is no body that is capable of rebuilding Manchester city than Pep Guardiola.
