I've been using laptop and windows program for a long time already and it's very useful for me even with wallets and cryptocurrency for as long as you know also the programs you use. I've been looking at macbook of my friends and did some research based on my laptop and my friends MacBooks. I found out that there are MacBooks that handle also windows programs at the same time. It's like two in one. Because of that, I'm interested to have a MacBook. Plus the benefits it can give. I hope this helps.

in my opinion if we talk about the world of crypto is broad but if only for access in the world of crypto using Macbook can also follow if we actively participate in playing in the world of crypto it must require strong spection and large capacity for the purposes of access our network in the world of crypro for example Laptop and other windows

Hi everyone,

I must changing from laptop and actually i use a Windows HP laptop. Now we know all, security is a big issue in crypto. And off course the change to have a virus or malware is much lower with a mac. So i thinking to taking a MacBook in place a Windows laptop. But there are to points i esitate:

- Is it eassy to switch between a Windows pc a going to a MacBook?
- Are all the applications and wallet released at the same time then for Windows? When i looked for the RPX presale, the wallet to use with Neocoins, get released much soner then for mac. I even think it was a issue to get a macwallet that can be used for the RPX presale.

So is it worth to make to step the change and to go to a macbook? Please dont aswer with your personal feeling (because everybody has a preference..), but with your technical advice, and specialy when you do cryptoinvestment and use wallets and whant to use applications.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I personally use windows laptop by now but I am looking forward to buying a mac. My friends suggested it because it is better in many ways except gaming ofcourse. I prefer ny windows when I am gaming because the game runs smoother and can run a higher fps games. When on crypto works, I prefer to use mac because it is somehow more secured but yeah as most apple products have,it is more expensive. I also want to have both because I can use them on different purposes, when gaming I will use windows and if on crypto I will use mac. As a student,we use autocad and we know it requires a unit with high specs so it will run smooth so as my professors suggest, get a mac.

I’m a windows user since the beginning and starting to join the crypto. But, my phone that I am using is brand of apple, We all know that the security features in macbook is high end than windows. So, if you have an extra money just go with macbook since we need to secure our wallets in an online wallet storage. But, as you can see windows is much easier to use and convenient. There are advantages and disadvantages that relies to this two OS but if I were you, go with the OS that you are comfortable with.

I guess that's not really in mind if you are just trading in cryptocurrency but if you are a developer or creator of some coin then macbook is the right choice to design or build some cryptocurrency.

I think windows laptop are good because window is more compatible as compared to mac. Even most developer works on windows.
You mentioned that there are some virus and security issue. So my suggestion is to use genuine window only with genuine anti virus.
If you want to do mining then i will suggest to use Linux system

I understand that Macbook is more expensive than Windows.  Cheesy  but in the digital currency your account and data is everything.

Both of them are good Smiley. If you only need a laptop to work I think Macbook is better one cause when your laptop suddenly turned off because of running out of battery all of your work still remain until the next time you turn on your Macbook. But if you want to work and play game at the same time I think you should choose a windows laptop. Beside if you don't have much money I think a windows laptop is also a better option as well Cheesy

Should not be too worried about Microsoft systems
Its own habits are more important now that the operating system is already safe
Moreover, under the premise of wallet password protection, even if hacked, you still have the assets

My suggestion would be Macbook but if you are tight on budget windows doesn't hurt. Make sure you don't store lot's of crypto on either of the machines instead invest in a hardware wallet or go with a paper wallet.

Windows for new coins wallets and macbook for established coins as it offers good security. Maintaing two laps is not a big thing for a trader and it is common to have more than one pc for a trader.

I am currently using windows base computer it is perfectly doing alright. But i sill suggest you if you have a chance to work in IOS based Macbook you better choose that as it is much faster and has a very corporate based themes which allows you to work professionally. Macbook is kind of no nonsense PC as it doesn't allows you to store any rubbish stuff with that it has his own virus detector which is safer than any other anti-virus.Transactions are also very secure. One thing that is a common problem with every IOS user is it is difficult to understand and once they understand,it is difficult to work in other processors.

I'm using a Windows Laptop for crypto trading. It is safe as long as you are avoiding to connect it to public WiFi and the 2FA are enabled in all of your accounts. It doesn't matter if you are using Macbook or Windows Laptop provided that you are following the security measures in your accounts.

I think Macbook with IOS is more safer than Bitcoin. If you are rich, you can use Macbook to trade and store your coins. Remember you also need one strong security solfware to protect your laptop.

Technically, MacBook with MacOS is more safer than Windows Notebook with Win10 or Win7. And it is easy for you to be used to MacBook after using it for several weeks .

Most of the coins have wallets both for MacOS and Windows, but some new altcoins may just have wallet for Windows. However, why to buy such coins?  Grin

Macbook is more secure than windows that's for me because I used last 2 years ago apple laptop and Im never experience any hack,  any interruption or any abonmalities but My macbook broke and I never use it again because they dont have chance to restored . So I choose windows for trading or for to buy crypto or doing bitcoin and Im very happy because I did tnot experince also any problems because I think I download anti virus and different protection. But highly recommended to use macbook because it's fully tested to use and many user for sure agree with me . But other also for sure better is windows we have different experience to our laptops.

If you have the ability to follow me, you should choose a Macbook for crypto operations. Because Apple's optimized Macbook has very high security, data processing speeds are extremely fast, giving crypto investors peace of mind about their data being stolen and manipulation done. It's quicker and more accurate. I used to use both Windows and MacBook laptops, so I had a lot of satisfaction with the Macbook as it gave me a better experience.

Actually I have used both the windows laptop and apple MacBook, and right now I am using two windows based laptop and one MacBook. It took me sometime to learn the basics of MacBook as I have recently bought my new MacBook but to be honest changing from Windows to MacBook was really tough for few days specially with the wallets and exchanges operations and adjusting the browser views and other things. But now its really super easy to take trades with my exchanges using MacBook and that's all because of the high processor speed of apple MacBook. In MacBook few of my personal trading software like keystock,  ninjatrader version 8  works smoother and faster than windows.

I think macbook offers a great experience in some crypto work like trading and keeping track on all the flow of crypto. But still the operating system does not matter as you can also earn bitcoins or any other crypto from mobile phones unless you are not involved in mining. I think that the skills are more necessary to earn bitcoin rather than a good machine or an operating system.

Your best vet actually is to have a cryptocurrency hardware wallet instead of relying on other wallet clients this is very important though because basically people work around the clocj trying to exploit the flaws in wallet clients and so practically it is impossible to give a 100% trust to these wallets no matter the operating system you use.In any case, windows can be encrypted to keep ypur data secure and so will be preferred over Mac.

What about coins where you can only download the wallets and its not compatible with the nano ledger s etc?  There are lot of coins that you can only store them on your wallet on computer.

I think the security of our crypto currency will be based on the wallets so it is better to choose any of the operating system. But macbook is little more secured in terms of viruses so you can go with Mac.Even in mac never store private keys, store them in the offline drives.

What if i use a windows laptop and do only trading with it, and keep wallets in it? NO web browsing or other unrelated to trading things
You don't have to buy a macbook just for better security and it depends if you have the budget. Imo for better security just get a hardware wallet for less than a laptop.

I'm using a windows laptop and my online wallets hasn't been hacked or compromised since I started my bitcoin adventure.

Both operating system are ok! But of a particular interest is macbook to crypto users! Mac seem to be stronger security wise compare to window. You rarely see or  hear about Mac been hacked. Microsoft on the other hand is full of many complaint.
Because the majority of the ransom ware has been  made to attack the windows operating system because that has used by majority of people around the world. that's why we rarely to see mac os getting hacked caused by ransom ware or other.
But linux will become the best os for crypto ever.

I have been using Windows for a while but the security is much less than that of APPLE MACS, so am hoping that one day when I can afford it I will buy one apple 27 IMAC desktop for my home and an IMAC air for travelling around but who knows, I need a ton of money to get these lovely gadgets for both crypto work and play. Macbook is best in terms of security but many softwares will only supports windows than macbook amd updates are less in macbook than windows. So you can buy windows and keep high quality anti virus will give full security than macbook.
But the important thing you need to know is that you have to store your private keys in pendrive because if we store it in oursystem itslef then the chance of getting hacked is more even in mac or windows.

Having owned a macbook myself, I can testify that the device still works great even after a year of using it. As for wallet releases and application updates, Macs tend to receive updates later than its Windows counterpart, but in terms of security, hands down for the mac especially if you don't commit common, unlooked errors when browsing the web. In terms of transferring the privkeys, there wouldn't be any problem at all since backups made on a windows machine can be recovered by macs most of the time.
