Thanks MicroGuy!
What is unique about goldcoin?
What does it offer that Bitcoin does not?
How will it achieve adoption?
Does it have real utility already somewhere?
How is amount of transactions per day evolving since inception?
Website looks nice but answers to these questions I cannot easily find.
Also, is it POW or POS, what is inflation rate?
Who is it's competition and how does it differentiate?

Consumers seek novelty and will always demand a choice. I think mainstream adoption will happen much the way it did with automobiles. The protocol is like the combustion engine, the frame, and the four wheels. The altcoins make up the various makes and models.
Cryptocurrency is often compared to digital gold for good reason. It’s a near perfect analogy. So why not gather a team and develop a cryptocurrency called Goldcoin?
It would combine the best of both worlds: the ingenious Satoshi protocol, and a name that means “value” to billions of people around the globe. Over the past three years, that's exactly what the people of Goldcoin have been doing. But instead of trying to be "all things to all people" we're focused on the commodity side of the equation with an obsessive fixation on network security.
Goldcoin is a rare PoW coin with an inflation rate of 4 coins every 2 minutes. It is unique in that it's the only coin with a bullet-proof 51% defense mechanism, difficulty attack resistant diff algorithm, and brand that's already recognizable by billions of consumers. Its utility is in its value storage ability which is ready for use today.
Goldcoin is a direct competitor to Bitcoin. We intend to win the race by cultivating the community, and fiercely protecting and maintaining Satoshi's protocol, something bitcoin core and Ethereum are certainly not doing. Otherwise we wouldn't be seeing badly behaving blockchains and smart-contract reversals.
In order to carry forward the torch lit by Satoshi, the succeeding developers must remain alert, informed, uncompromised, and vigilant. Basically, we're like bitcoin only with a better name, better code, and better core management.
