It is even better to read the whitepaper and not understand than what most investors do, I have met several people I have introduced into the crypto currency world and I tried to give them freedom to select the coin they wish to invest in by encouraging them to read the whitepaper so that I don’t get the blame when things go wrong but to my greatest surprise many of the investors put their money into it based on the coins I suggested and they rather work with intuition than read the white paper which is quite very wrong and that is why many of us fall victim of ICO scams.

Wow, I really like this project and I have always been asking for something like this that just don't care about the technology but also about the users of the technology.

Many blockchain projects always have one thing in common which is the lack of creating a user friendly platform that will make newbies understand the system which is very bad, the truth is that only what can bring mass adoption is not just a platform with new idea or innovation but a platform that is user friendly and easy to use by anyone.

A lot of people take blockchain as something too technical. A lot of people are yet to understand the real-world value of blockchain technology. Most whitepapers are way too complicated for newbies to understand. Those of us that are developers and have a technical idea of how blockchain adds an extra layer of trust to the internet, find it easy to grasp the concepts of blockchain projects. But for newbies who don’t have much idea of how blockchain works, reading a whitepaper and getting the concepts behind a project is tough for them.

WHAT COULD BE A WAY OUT?
As a matter of fact, provided a blockchain project is not enterprise-level and offers services to the entire masses, it’s important for upcoming ICOs to find a way for none techies to easily grasp their projects, just like techies can easily grasp a whitepaper. May I propose the introduction of a STRAIGHTPAPER?

CONCEPTS OF A STRAIGHTPAPER

ICOs should create a STRAIGHTPAPER with the non-tech users in mind. A STRAIGHTPAPER would be an abstraction of all the technical stuff in the whitepaper. Everything is abstracted into simple non-technical words which newbies can understand. This might require the work of a good copywriter who has a good knowledge of blockchain technology. The work of the copywriter will be to pick the whitepaper of a certain project, read and internalize the whitepapaper and simplify the whitepaper on a STRAIGHTPAPER such that everyone including non-techies can understand it. This will go a long way in attracting new users into the interesting world of blockchain technology. Since anyone can easily understand the STRAIGHTPAPER, even individuals that have never encountered blockchain technology before can easily read, understand and contribute to the success of the project.

A STRAIGHTPAPER BOUNTY MAY EVEN BE POSSIBLE

Projects might even decide to add a STRAIGHTPAPER BOUNTY to their bounty campaigns, where good copywriters are given the chance to submit their written STRAIGHTPAPERS FOR moderation. These STRAIGHTPAPERS could then be added into projects’ bitcointalk ANN threads so that anyone, even those without a technical background will have a clear understanding of the project.
Soon, I will take a project and create a STRAIGHTPAPER for it, just as a sample. I will create a thread for STRAIGHTPAPER samples of projects where I will paste my STRAIGHTPAPERS written for projects. Trust me; you will be amazed as to \ how such STRAIGHTPAPERS could go a long way towards bringing more interested people to projects.

Great idea I think! But on the other hand it would be no so easy to implement because very often it is not too easy to explain technical stuff with non-tech language. Maybe only the main idea of the project but the details...It would be practically impossible! However I think new projects should give it a try. Really love the name for this thing - "Straightpaper"))

Not always, say the youth has more or less quickly perceive information and people who are already over 45-50 very hard, they are all given a new hard youth because they all sit in an Internet, especially given an easy programistam that the best understand these processes, and why are they needed at all

Most of the legit project that is really serious on attracting investors has made this kind of short whitepaper.
It's either being published within different file than the real whitepaper which contains complicated technical aspect of the project or being published in the website.
However I need to say that if the investors dont have even a single clue about the technical aspect of the project why bother investing?

Compare rates on different exchanges & swap.
I totally agree on your suggestion for the simplification of whitepaper. I think some projects are already doing this with something called Litepaper or Lightpaper.  It is not enough though. More needs to be done to simplify it further for newbies and non-techies

I think the whole idea about Straightpaper is a very interesting one because it's going to make life easy  for the blockchain technology newbies in the cryptocurrency sphere. Thanks for this wonderful idea

A fantastic idea. In fact, making a straightpaper bounty will even force bounty hunters to research the actual whitepaper to derive the important information. You can even break down 10 straightpapers,,, but the main one should be done by the project team itself so we know they also know what they are doing.

My suggestion also is to make each straightpaper specialized technically. Not a 1-pager that all whitepapers have these days. But like a series of straightpapers that if you read all of them you know the project 90%.

Not a bad idea to attract investors who are curious about blockchain and cryptocurrencies. It's been said that one of the main hurdles of mass adoption is the lack of education so this "straightpaper" is one way to solve that.

This is not a bad idea. A startup which cares about newbies could indeed write something like a Straightaper. Or create an easy to understand video tutorial. I don't see too many projects creating such content, which only means that they want to appeal to the tech savvy users, neglecting the newbies. It is really hard to tell to what extent their success depends on making this technology easy to understand. Probably they believe no such thing is really helpful for the success of the project. I think it might be worth the try.
