February 14th is very much celebrated worldwide as valentine's day, a day to show love, not just to our loved ones but to everyone. I'm thinking of doing something memorable for my loved ones and maybe any other person, something bitcoin related. Suggestions please, how can I and us all make valentine's day a memorable day with bitcoins?

Yesterday, my family and I had a double celebration. Not only we had a Valentine’s Day dinner, but also a surprise bridal shower for my younger sister because she’s getting married in a few days from now far away from our city in a beach setting.

I already gave her $100 worth of ETH last time. Maybe in her wedding day, I’ll give her some BTC this time.

I read your topic about you planning to give your sister btc. I don't think btc can be a good choice for a wadding. However you can give her a hardware wallet with btc inside of it as a valentine gift. Personally i think valentine day is not only for couples so it will be nice to give it to your sis and for her wedding you can chose one of the options mentioned here in this thread (see page 1) .

Try sending someone you love a gift related to love NFTs, I find it quite interesting and special.
Or you can also spend a certain amount of crypto and send it to your loved one by date of birth with 1402, I believe these will help you have a memorable Valentine's Day.
The problem here is do our loveones really understand the concept we wanted to build? i mean do they appreciate the effort and the crypto we need to spend for that gift?

I think instead of anything ? why not just give them Bitcoin ? at least 0.001 each or more so they will become a crypto supporter as they have already holding a coin?
let us be practical now specially as the covid  really affected our financial system .

NFT is a very good way to say modern day valentines wishes and gift. Giving direct bitcoins to your loved ones may not sound so impressive and attactive as compare to giving unique attactive NFTs. This is a good idea and i may also implement this on the next valentine  Smiley

This could be anohter use case of NFTs as valentines, marriages and birthday wishes.

I'm sure you know it's too late now, Valentine's Day was yesterday. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes if you screwed up and didn't get something for your loved one in time. Cheesy

By the way, did anyone really buy anything related to bitcoin for Valentine's Day? I wonder how your loved ones felt about such gifts?

the best proof is getting your partner married , with a wedding gift of 0.5-1 btc and maybe the event is on valetine day, an amazing idea for men, not just seduction
Lol that's too much and how if your partner doesn't know anything with Bitcoin? He might think 1 BTC is only $1 Tongue Paper wallet with Bitcoin inside worth $50-$100 is better, at least if she lose it... there's nothing to worry. Also married need so many preparations from the both side, I don't think it's can be completed for 8 days only.

Anyway Valentine's day is where woman give a gift to her boyfriend, not a men gifting to his girlfriend.

I believe that there are so many ways that you can surprise your loved ones with Bitcoin on any day. First, I would say that you have to know what they like, if you are able to get to know what your loved ones like, then you can work towards gifting them something that is similar to that or what they would really like that will impress them that much.

Some of the ways that you can send Bitcoin as a gift to your loved ones include sending them a gift card. There are so many ways that you can send a Bitcoin gift card to people, maybe through the BitCard platform or BitPay. Then another way you can surprise them is to send them a paper wallet which has an instructions on how they can claim it using the QR code or the private keys written on the paper wallet. Or you can even send them one of those physical bitcoins, these ones are really attractive and I would highly recommend them. If you don’t know about it then you should read up on it and how it works. There are still more ways and I believe that if you should search for it, you’re going to see.

Valtenine's gift giving using bitcoins may be symbolic but not really necessary. Giving other gifts will also be more memorable, maybe crypto themed.
Many to choose from and can be effective.
If your lover does not understand bitcoin then it will be useless to give bitcoin, it will not be memorable. Give him knowledge about bitcoin what are the benefits and uses, of course it's a good step to get him interested.

As others have also suggested i would go with the same way of storing my btc for long term instead of gifting it to others at this time. You might not get good options with bitcoin than you could get it with fiat and some simple and nice gift would make her more happy than giving btc gifts.
In my country now since crypto gain popularity die to axie, some couples were buying axie token or account to ply it. I think if your love one is into crypto then giving bitcoin with some sort of note when sending ot will make it memorable. Like planning the future like may this bitcoin grow with us as we plan our future. Something like that or collectible coins. It will depend whether your partner knows what crypto is.

You have a valid point, but it is referred to as investment. You invest in something that has a high chance of increasing in value, for example, buying axie or SLP, which you know will increase in value at some point. There is nothing wrong with gifting it to others because it is a sign of love; however, innovation is preferred instead of giving things in the traditional way to celebrate Valentine's Day, it is preferable to be given it in the form of cryptocurrency, which I am confident will be appreciated

I think if our lover doesn't understand or is not involved with bitcoin or crypto, it is better to have a simple valentine celebration and with a gift that he understands and wants and also feel very happy when receiving it. And that's much better than giving him something he has to understand first and that won't impress and confuse him.
Except before you tell or explain it doesn't matter because you already know and understand and maybe he will use it by converting it to fiat so it can be used and that too definitely needs your help.

So, what impression will you get from it all, and what difference does it make if you give it on a normal day, without waiting for a particular moment. Better save your bitcoins for your future marriage and living expenses with your lover because it will be much more memorable and useful.

women are born to love money and it can't be denied but those who are lazy to think hard will definitely prefer real money to Bitcoin and hardware wallets lol.  we have to have another trick to get them to like Bitcoin one way I've tried is to say that Bitcoin is marriage savings and it turns out she (my girlfriend) likes it.
Giving BTC to a woman on Valentine's Day, you have to make sure that she knows well what a BTC means, because in these cases it is a great gift, it is something that in the future can represent fixing your life, but if and only if she you know what the BTC has in Value but not in the price it has for now, if so, give it to her, but honestly a woman values other things more, sometimes they prefer simpler things in order to share a pleasant moment, for them too that's okay and they don't give so much value to what money represents, even though they love money, but for that occasion other things are preferable, roses, eating a healdo share with her, but if you want to give her BTC then it's not too much , as long as she knows and understands its value.

I think giving her small amount of bitcoin is the most memorable gift that you can give to her. Teach her how to use them.Educate her. If you see yourself with her in the future, introducing bitcoin might be the best gift. It is also a good start of planning on your future Smiley

It's a good thing, I think on Valentine's Day one way to give an unforgettable Valentine's Day experience is to give Bitcoin and I think that's the dream of many people. if you do have Bitcoin and intend to give it then I'm sure it will be a memorable thing. Valentine is a day where we show affection and maybe that way it will be a memorable thing. especially if the person given can manage it well then it can be profitable too and can continue to be used into the future. it will be much more profitable than other gifts I think.

For everyone who celebrates valentine's day, it can be the right time to show your love in a unique way by giving something related to Bitcoin. But make sure your couple doesn't hate Bitcoin, it will be a bad idea to give it to a person who doesn't like it. The gift can be varied, depending on the preferences of your couple. They may be cakes, knick-knacks, handicrafts, or other things replicated Bitcoin.

in my opinion it wouldn't be good to offer bitcoin on valentine's day i say that because bitcoin is an investment and honestly being a boyfriend doesn't mean that the person you date with her is someone trustworthy, imagine that after the person receives bitcoin as a gift that person starts doing it questions and then reveal everything and get robbed? I need to be careful

The only way you can make your valentines happy is to gift him/her some of your precious bitcoins.
I would rather keep my bitcoins with me and never give it to anyone. I would rather prefer and go with the old ways of giving flowers and chocolate to my loved one.  Wink
wow!! What am ideology, so you'd rather not share your Bitcoin with anyone even your loved once?? What do we consider this act as, as much as I would love to conclude that you're being too self centered with what you've got, I would also want to hear your reasons, maybe they'll be genuine at the end of the day.

It's a bit meh. I mean there could be something more than just sending Bitcoin to the person. Why wouldn't everyone just give money to their loved ones in Christmas as well? Roll Eyes
Stuffs like flowers might fade out, but there's an attached memory to it along with sentimental value.

You could simply send Bitcoin directly and I'm sure that the person that will receive it would be happy and grateful. Instead of buying material things like flowers that would fade, just give Bitcoin and let the person decide on how he or she will use it. I hope everyone would have the same generosity during this upcoming hearts day.
You know your friend and you know if what can make him happy. There is a friend that is practical and appreciates if he gets a money or it can also be a btc and we have a type of friend that is simple and does not expect much but since the topic is about btc and you as a friend wants to spread the love using btc as a theme.

You would want to add some twist on the flower that you gave. Painting a btc art on the vase if its a physical flower or if its a flower painting, you can be creative and add some btc elements in the background. Let's make someone feel that they important to us by doing a small effort. Let's share the love this hearts season.

I think that the best proof of love or at least a serious relationship would be a predictable gift in the form of a 0.5 bitcoin transaction to your soulmate. The point is that the memory of love, even if it once passes, will remain in the blockchain forever. What could be cuter in our brave new digital world? Unless you also exchange NFTs in some of the popular meta-universes. The future has come faster than we have time to realize it.

You can take your loved ones for a good dinner but does not mean you need to hunt down a restaurant that accepts BTCitcoin, because it is rare to find even today. What i would do is give her a hardware wallet with couple of hundred dollars worth of BTCitcoin and ask to do anything with it according to her choice or store it for the long term as the valentine gift.

That's a great idea buddy, I've never done this before because my loved ones didn't know about bitcoin or cryptocurrency so it's kind of non sense if I give them a certain amount of crypto as a gift but today luckily they now interested in crypto and so far they slowly learning how to transact using it so I am also considering this one. However, I am still a person who used to observe traditional treats and I think I'd still love to take them out in a good food and hopefully could found a place that would accept bitcoin as a mode of payment.

can't believe it's Valentine's Day soon...

In my country Valentine's Day is not a big day that must be celebrated, but my husband and I have been celebrating Valentine's Day for years. I don't expect a big gift from my husband, as long as he allows me to continue buying Bitcoins when we have more money then it is the most beautiful valentine gift. Grin

Me and my partner are used to on Valentine's Day, we are a family holiday. But in my country, there is currently a prolonged pandemic going on, and I think all parts of the world feel the same way.
i plan to give 1 btc to my partner. as a form of my love for him. although he is not interested in crypto.

I am not a fan of Valentines day so i think I'm gonna pass for this event , but asking if what you can bring to your love one?

Why not customized a wallet  that closer to His name and put some BTC inside? so at least he will be connected and interested in crypto knowing that he had already funds inside?

that will symbolized your Love and concern for His future .

^ You probably be thinking of giving your special someone flowers, money, or chocolates as a unique Valentine's Day gift, and you might be thinking of writing a conventional love letter, but you are not sure how to go about it. There are so many methods to use BTC to show your love, and I recommend that you write a letter via BTC wall to add up your special day. You can really make your love exceptional by doing this since the message you send will be safeguarded and will remain eternally in the blockchain as a reminder of your unending love.
Nevertheless, this depends on the person who receives the gift, if the persona who have zero knowledge of BTC, it is probably good if you include the guide and also a hardware wallet where BTC is stored.

Well, how is it about giving some Bitcoin to your beloved one?  Grin
Or, some voucher or gift with BTC?

A Valentine edition of Ballet Card

This idea is very interesting and also beautiful. Your beloved one will love it so much.
But, consider that the loved one also knows and understands about Bitcoin. At least, they know how to utilize the gift. Or they are interested to learn about Bitcoin.
If they have no intention, it may be a waste.

You could give them bitcoins but it would be much more appreciated if you do let them know even with the basics so that they would really able to like on what you have given.
IF you are planning on making out some bitcoin gifts then you could simply tell them about first before February 14 on which you do teach them about the basic principle
but of course you wouldnt really be giving out some hints that you would really be giving them on this upcoming holiday or event of this month
because if they do able to know at least then they would appreciate on what you have given.

Usually, we gift lovers what she mostly likes. But since you won't make this memorable by doing something with Bitcoin then you can do it besides of general gift what she likes most. The idea would like to gift her a hardware wallet and teach her how to play with it. Then send her some Bitcoin units and suggest holding them for the future. So it will be good for both of you in case you intend to marry her later. You may pick some ideas from above as well and make it more memorable by a combined gift. Good Luck.
quite impressive, by providing a hardware wallet filled with Bitcoin assets. and the hardware wallet that is provided is also custom made according to Valentine's Day, it will be better.
Hardware wallets that contain bitcoins in them must of course be held and seen on the next Valentine's Day and whether that will happen, increase or not. Providing some general knowledge will further increase his lover's desire to know more about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and their technology.

Yeah before giving a bitcoins gift to your partner or lover, make sure he/she knows about it and has some interest in this. Otherwise, no matter how much amount you give in bitcoins, the other person will not be able to recognize the importance of it and all your spending on the gift will be in vain.
I think that's okay if she or he's not interested on it.

It will make them curious what you've given and just give an instruction on how to redeem it. Like if you're going to surprise her with a little amount of bitcoin with a seed.

Make sure that you'll add some instruction on how they can get your gift. I'm sure that they'll be happy to hold it as if it's going to make them cool that they hold btc.

Depending on our partner, if he is not very tech savvy, it seems that following the instructions to get Bitcoin will be complicated for him or her.
There are our partners become annoyed because of it, but if our partners really like technology and surprises, there's nothing wrong with giving
a surprise gift in the form of Bitcoin. But because I'm used to giving my partner on Valentine's Day it's something she likes, and of course
my partner doesn't understand Bitcoin and she seems less interested in technology too, so I will not give Bitcoin as a gift to her.
Nah, I don't think it's going to be complicated with an instruction. Without giving an instruction, that's the factor that will make things complicated.

But if you have left them with an instruction from importing the seed and accessing the wallet. It's not complicated at all. I think even someone's who's not tech savvy these days.

As long as there's a clear instruction, they'll be able to access it by following those instructions.

I think the OP can surprise the partner a bit even if the partner doesn't know bitcoin. Show him the bitcoin estimate in the wallet and if it makes him happy then I think the show is a success. It's a simple step for those who don't know bitcoin but know what money is.

I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, so there shouldn't be a special surprise for my partner on February 14th. I often make surprises at the end of the month and this is a custom with no celebration date. As long as my partner and I are happy, that's good for us.

But because I'm used to giving my partner on Valentine's Day it's something she likes, and of course
my partner doesn't understand Bitcoin and she seems less interested in technology too, so I will not give Bitcoin as a gift to her.

if there are businesses like coffee shop or restaurant that accepts bitcoin in your country? then why not try to have a dinner date or something related?

or some gadget shops that accepts bitcoin? then why not buy for them? or if you are out of budget / then why not give them bitcoin instead? or satoshi i mean.

Yeah before giving a bitcoins gift to your partner or lover, make sure he/she knows about it and has some interest in this. Otherwise, no matter how much amount you give in bitcoins, the other person will not be able to recognize the importance of it and all your spending on the gift will be in vain.
You just said what I just said in the last part but I definitely agree with that, with mismatched gifts comes unappreciated efforts leading to misunderstanding of both parties involved in the relationship because they thought that you're not putting effort in that relationship. But for me though, even if they know about bitcoin, I would still probably go for some other way to gift that significant other that's far more memorable.

If I am your partner I will be happy if you give me a little bit of bitcoin in my wallet (if your partner is the same as I understand bitcoin) but if not usually women prefer flowers, chocolates, and clothes, dinner on Valentine's Day
Definitely, I think it's important to understand that your partner understands first and know about bitcoin or better yet, cryptocurrencies because if not then you're probably going to waste your time and your effort would be unappreciated because they have a different expectations. Also, I think that it wouldn't hurt to ask your partner what they want because communication is the key to a relationship right?

this is what I thought too. it would be better to just give your partner a gift that she/he will appreciate. if OP really wants to use bitcoin, he could buy the gift using bitcoin. but then, if OP's partner is also a bitcoin enthusiast I think this gift would be good.

For some people, Valentine Day is the most awaited thing to show a form of their love for someone, but for me personally, love doesn't have to be poured out only on Valentine's Day, but we can express it at any time we want Grin
If you really want to give something memorable to your girlfriend, why don't you try introducing her to bitcoin and maybe if you have a lot of bitcoins, of course you can give your boyfriend a gift in the form of bitcoins to him, Of course he will be happy and will definitely love you more Grin.

The beauty behind BTC is its commutative value- it can be either treated as an asset or as a form of currency. Its uses are very flexible depending on the things that you need but generally, you may want to withdraw and convert some of your BTCs to be able to purchase something nice this Valentine's Day.

If you are looking for something that can be associated with BTC this Valentine's, I guess you can create a post under the services thread and ask for something that can be traded with BTCs. In that way, gifted and talented users may be able to think of an idea that can immortalized BTC this February 14.

Bitcoin-themed date? Giving bitcoin to someone at an event seems to become common especially on Christmas day.
What's on my mind is an event for all single and want to learn about Bitcoin on valentine's day and during the event, there could have some valentine's day related event like a blind date or whatever.

Bitcoin can be best gift to give to love ones as a gift only  if they are new to bitcoin or they have been into Bitcoin before now,  in a case where love ones have never gotten  bitcoin before and they know  nothing about bitcoin it will be better to keep your bitcoin back  and give a book as a gift that is all about bitcoin (get them familiar with bitcoin before proceeding to give bitcoin as a gift).

I would go with the bitcoin logo wrapped chocolates posted by Mbitr. It's looks classy enough for the occasion and convenient to carry around more importantly. It's also a good starting point of conversation even when your date isn't familiar with BTC. You could end up converting someone into a new hodler or investor.

oh yah, now I have to find out one tech expert Girlfriend to give her a Bitcoin Paper wallet as a valentine gift,,  Cheesy
I'm 100% sure if you give a paper wallet to a nontech GF, she will not understand its dignity and will be arrogant, thinking that maybe he is being joked with, maybe even break up with you!! Cheesy

So, make sure your girlfriend's knowledge about this before giving a Bitcoin-related gift to avoid a breakup Wink, thank me later.

Seriously, the non tech girl will tear the paper wallet after or store it carelessly. I was thinking if the paper that contains the private keys should have a brief explanation of how she can get the money enclosed on the private keys. Make an illustration then write boldly how much is in the wallet so that she can value the paper. Although, women differ in behavior but, they share one similarity; money moves them, I don't think any girl will be arrogant if she understands that the paper she is holding is worth a good amount of money.

Cool, love the way he pointed it out on right post at right time. Amazing by the way. How amazing would it be to gift them some satoshi to get started with the bitcoin if they have not already started with it. Or may you can have paper wallet with loaded money on it. May be they can redeem it somewhere nearby at bitcoin ATM thus giving them feeling of using the bitcoin in real world.

Well, I’m bitcoin investor so my ideas would be more or less how to pull my loved once into the bitcoin world. Haha. So go for it, they will surely be your Valentine and be bitcoinist soon.

You can't possibly offer Bitcoin as a gift except you have a well equipped wallet. You can offer NFTs and make it a crypto val to friends and loved ones. We have promising projects with very low market value at the moment gifting them to people could be a big favor that could salvage someones future who knows

Nope.. I think the best thing you can do for Bitcoin.. is to buy something (not necessarily Bitcoin related) for your other half.. and this is important ==> Pay with bitcoins.

As someone previously said... We should not shove Bitcoin down people's throat ...but we can help supporting it, by using it as a currency. (It's original purpose)  Wink

Don't overdo it, there are many other simple ways to celebrate Valentine's Day that have to do with Bitcoin.
I personally wouldn't do anything with my bitcoins because it's for my future and with my loved ones, and on valentine's day I plan to buy two pink t-shirts with the bitcoin emblem for me to wear with my loved ones, and ordered chocolates in bitcoin symbols which i bought all using fiat for later valentines day. Grin
He haven't done this before but it was his first time because he seek for a suggestion so he isn't overdoing it. Anyone can give their suggestions here and it can be simple or not so simple he will choose depending on his bitcoin budget and depending on the time that he can allocate. Valentines day is just like any other occasions that needs to be celebrated because it can only come once in every year and the spirit of valentines day is about our love ones.

It wont be bad if you can make them feel happy, giving them some of your btc's can be enough already to show your love to them. You can still be able to gain the bitcoins that you spend in no time.

Haha I don't think anything would be more special than gifting your loved ones some bitcoin altogether. Or gift any heart based or valentine NFT to your partner which they can store as well as it would be a gift whose value would appreciate over time. Interestingly this sounds like a good business idea to me too Cheesy

Good Luck.

In my country Valentine's Day is not a big day that must be celebrated, but my husband and I have been celebrating Valentine's Day for years. We normally shove something better than Bitcoin on thier troats though.

Finding out what she likes better on occasions like Valentine's day will be more memorable to her than surprising her with BTC that she does not know about. If she likes chocolate or Icecream which they usually do, then give something like that. I have sent BTC to my girl more than 10 times already for her to have funds on her mobile wallet and something to spend but I have not heard her ask what blockchain is.

Gifting money is generally considered a poor taste, because it means that you're too lazy to come up with something good and don't know the person too well. Valentine's Day is a very special holiday, you are supposed to gift something that demonstrates that you feel and understand your loved one, so it's definitely not the time for lazy gifts. I'm pretty sure that even many people who are into crypto would be frustrated to some extent if they were gifted Bitcoin on this day.

Secondly, if you gift bitcoin (money), she will get nothing in her hand. It's just a wallet-to-wallet transfer and most women won't appreciate such a gift that can't be touched or felt.  Better to give her something which she likes and can feel her in her hands. You can sell your bitcoins to buy her the gift and believe me for her, it will be more valuable for her.

There were different categories like clothing, phone cases, stationary, household, postcard, gift cards, etc. This is particularly for the crypto enthusiasts and I don't know how effective the gift will be to the valentine.

I was thinking that I'll just send a small amount of bitcoin and make her a bitcoin wallet. I like the idea of giving a Ballet Card, thanks for the idea. And I find this better way and more romantic I guess.
However, I'm not sure if she's going to keep it for real since I know her attitude and the way she keep her stuff, personally. I'll start for making her a phone wallet and sending her a little amount in batches and that's it.

Just write a text message about you as a couple on the Bitcoin blockchain. The message will exist as long as Bitcoin exists and is indelible. Did this not too long ago, by the way, when a relative was born. Her birth will always be anchored in the blockchain and when she comes of age I will show her the transaction id :-P

I think something personal would be nice for a day like this. Like, perhaps, making your own postcard, and writing the passphrase to a Bitcoin wallet with some money in it? A simple idea is to write the words from the passphrase in the shape of a heart. It's something you can easily do in Word using space (or tabs), or you could write it with a pen yourself (if you have a fairly good handwriting). Come to think of it, you don't even need to make your own postcard. You can buy one of those that have plenty of empty room for you to write your own text, and you can print out or write a heart-shaped passphrase onto it.

Just keep it simple. Gift her some bitcoins.

I personally feel that all the crypto exchanges that are quite popular should have more easy crypto gifting options. When someone gifts another person crypto in some form, the receiving party also comes to know about the crypto industry and the benefits of owning and investing crypto. This will help in faster adoption of crypto and will help in growth of the exchanges as well. Thus a cycle will be formed and all the involved parties will be  benefitted.

The only way you can make your valentines happy is to gift him/her some of your precious bitcoins.

The first one suggested is actually a great option. However, if the person you are giving a gift to is a person that is already immersed in this industry and understands quite a lot of things about crypto and NFTs already, then a better choice would be to gift an NFT that is somewhat relevant to any of you two or ahould I say can be given a meaningful meaning.

A better idea is to personally create your NFT gift. Because let's face it, nothing beats the price of efforts and time that is poured into something as a gift.

You still have a couple of days left to start working on that NFT.

- hope this helps, goodluck!

Yeah the Ballet card's not too bad. I got one as a gift myself last year (or was it the year before) and I have to say, quality and impression is pretty good, and modern enough it comes with an app to track balance, and easy enough to introduce someone to Bitcoin -- and allowing them the freedom later on to switch wallets if they want. I got the Lunar New Year edition and am sure the Valentine's design is as good as it looks.

But don't make that THE gift, just part of it, haha. It's Valentine's day, you gotta make it romantic too, trust me. You don't want this Bitcoin gift to be memorable for the wrong reasons haha.
