I always thought Malaysia was pretty lax when it comes to enforcing religious laws. I spent nearly a year there in 2003 while I was backpacking across SE Asia and never saw or heard of anything too radical. I didn't even know they had religious police over there.

If the pink mafia comment on this, then they will lose 50% of their funding. They are a bunch of greedy fat cowards.
Another example is the FIFA World Cup of 2018 and 2022. Russia (hosting the 2018 edition) is facing a lot of criticism for its treatment of homosexuals. But at the same time, none of them have any balls to criticize Qatar (which is hosting the 2022 edition) on the same subject. Remember that any homosexual who is caught there is immediately executed.

Religious police have arrested a lesbian couple in a hotel in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. They are believed to be the first lesbians to be arrested by police who enforce Islam in the thriving Muslim nation, although a number of gay men have been detained over the years. Former deputy prime minister and current opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has been arrested twice on sodomy charges, which he maintains were trumped up. The two women, both students, were said to be found with a sex toy in their hotel room by officers from the Johor Islamic Religious Department during a raid. One woman reportedly answered the door while the other remained in the bathroom, nude. The women face three months in jail, six cane strokes, and a fine.
