I had updated the nvidia drivers, they are the ones that crashed the 3080 so I went back to the old one and it works. what drivers do you recommend me to use?
Use the drivers recommended by the miner developer. Perhaps you have other errors that occurred when installing new drivers. Before installing new drivers, use Display Driver Uninstaller DDU to remove old drivers.

I don't think DDU works on HiveOS (Linux)  Wink
If a beginner has learned to update drivers for hive OS, then he is well done. I'm used to the fact that beginners use Windows, so I recommend this software.
Try it on hive os, this version works great for my comrades.
nvidia driver-update 510.60.02
A newbie who is always curious can handle hiveOS very well, no matter what problems you run into google search is there to get you out of the mess, I as a newbie knew how to update drivers in Linux OS like hiveOS days after building my first mining rig ever.
Driver update is relevant only for new video cards nvidia 3000 series. If you use AMD or Nvidia 1000-2000 series, then you probably won't need to update drivers and hive OS. For new video cards, new miners came out with a decrease in consumption, but in reality this is imperceptible.

I tried the 510 but from problems as I said I went back to the 470.86 to make it work at least at 84mh which sometimes crashes and I have to reset. which drivers do you recommend? or am I going to attempts?

If you have problems with 510.68.02 you can go up to 510.73.05, or go by trial and error.
As I said to you, try to reinstall HiveOS from scratch, if you are using SSD or HDD, you can install on a flash drive just to test

Even with 470.86 you are getting crashes, so it's not driver version, I suspect you have some conflict issues, doing again from zero is my best hint

So, the problem was the drivers...

If you update to the latest version of Nvidia drivers on HiveOS you are probably running a version with LHR locked again
I think N 510.68.02 is the driver to install if you want to unlock LHR

You can read here how to deal with driver updates and get an older version: https://hiveon.com/knowledge-base/guides/nvidia_dr/

To summarize, you can use nvidia-driver-update --list and choose the version you want

hello everyone, I connected the 3080lhr to the rig, I use hiveos, I updated the drivers but the board malfunctioned. can someone help me thanks. I have already replaced riser, changed power supply cables etc.
If your motherboard is broken, then why are you changing the raiser and power cable?
I first disconnect all video cards, check the processor socket, install a test video card, such as a GT 220, and test the motherboard on a tested power supply.

It's a little hard to understand your problem

You have a rig with 6 RX 580, you tried to remove 1 and put a 3080lhr, after that the rig stopped?
It doesn't turn on?
Only the 3080 is not working?
Other cards are working and mining?

If you give more details, it will be easy to try to help you

I suggest you to install a fresh new HiveOS, with all the cards together, maybe you're using only AMDs and somehow drivers crashed or didn't installed properly
If you already checked riser and psu cables, try to change the position of card too

before I got the 3080 I had about 6 580, having full pci I removed a 580 and I put the 3080 also adding 1 psu to sort the load. he read it and it was fine then I did some oc's and hiveos didn't get stuck. I was advised to update the drivers to make it make more (before 83mh) updated drivers and exit malfunction

The only thing that I hold on to is a malfunctioned motherboard, how is the motherboard behaving? What is the reason that prompt you to start changing riser and power supply? Please try to explain the exact behaviour of your motherboard.
