If the main intention is just for fun why you need a good margin trading tutorial? It does not make senses for me, if you are looking for profit then it is good to ask for a good tutorial, but once again are you sure that you are going for fun only?
I think they expect the gambling fun because they have enough knowledge in crypto trading but still they trying to move some exchanges and they plan to invest on 0.4BTC in margin trading. Some peoples are waiting to spend the money in gambling so I suspect this guy also follow the same way.

All crypto already oversold so for the better just more focus to trade on spot trading, because the risk will be lower than margin trading. Margin trading is good to do when the market turn in to bearish, and my recommended to use broker of FX OPEN and Weltrade because both broker has low spread and also regulated.

Margin trading is dangerous if you're going to do it just for fun, as you mentioned there will no problem. Don't think margin trading is very profitable if you profit at margin trading. I mean just do it for fun. Don't do it at your real trades because M.trading parallel to gambling.

if I lose that then it's done. If I make money I can keep building on that.

Going to trade with the mindset of losing is already a disadvantage because you have reduced your confidence level.
My advise for you is that, if you have not built a working plan, take more time to do note demo and build your strategy and confidence more.

If you want to try for the demo account, I think you can try with https://testnet.bitmex.com/. You don't need to use real money while you learn.

You can get much information with using the keyword "learning margin trading" on Google, and you can read one by one until you found the good lesson that you can understand.

To have fun from margin trading is not necessary to use real money and take too much risk,  because there alot of trading platform  that provide demo account. Metatrader is good platform to learn about margin trading because provide demo account. Margin trading is very risky and only about 20% of trader been making money from it.

There are too many lessons about margin trading tutorial, and I am sure that you can find it with searching in the search engine. Besides that, I am sure that you can get the lesson for each exchange so you can start to do margin trading. I only advise you that it is too risky to do margin trading if you do not understand with the trading. Besides that, you will need a bigger balance to start if you want to make a lot of money from the margin trading itself.

Margin trading on futures trading platform like in Bitmex difficult to understanding, and i think more easy to understanding margin trading in CFDs trading platform. CFDs trading platform offer metatrader platform and in this platform available many different asset to trade include crypto, forex, stocks.

Bittrex exchange did not offer margin trading, for beginner in margin trading is better use poloniex or gate.io because both exchange more easy to understanding how margin trading work compare in Bitmex platfom. Use maximum 3x leverage is more safe and more possible to earn profit.

One expert on margin trading recommended me to long Bitcoin Cash 30x when its price was 425$. Did not believe in him when I saw the total crypto markets were in red. I missed a good chance.
He told me, chances like that come weekly, he suggested to continue long on Bitcoin Cash 5x-10x leverage even when its price is around 500$ now.
Target 1: 519$, target 2: 534, Target 3: 579$. Hold for some days or even weeks. Stop-loss at 479$ and reentrance at 461$. Good luck!

The only place that you can leverage BCC/USD now is at Bitseven. Remeber that BCC/BTC on Bitmex has another outcome.

I do not respond for any of your loss. You own your risk. Never trade with fund that you're not affordable to lose all. However, I welcome any tips or donation if you win big Smiley

You can start here: https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/202967016-How-do-I-trade-using-leverage-.

Kraken is a pretty good brokerage IMO. Really small fees/commission, and lots of tools for trading. Oh, and their new trading interface is really pretty (https://trade.kraken.com/kraken/btceur). But above all, DO YOUR RESEARCH.

The use of margin, and esp. leveraged margin amplifies every gain and loss. I’ve been up by 50% from my initial positions one day, and then down to 75% of what I started with the next.

My advice is to make a plan for when to jump on and jump off, and stick to it. It can get really tempting to stay on for as long as possible on each moonshot, but remember that it can all come back down pretty fast. Anything you make beyond what you put in is basically house money, and when your positions are up don’t be too headstrong to walk away from the table before the table walks away from you.

You can read this https://poloniex.com/support/aboutMarginTrading/
It is quite in detail and it can be helpful for you to understand some basic terms used on margin trading.
Margin trading is quite riskier than normal trading and also have quite higher trading fees comparatively.

One of the most successful strategy is to buy at cheaper rates and sell at higher rates.
The only problem of this method is that a person should be very patient.
Especially to find perfect people who will buy at higher rates and from whom they can buy at cheaper rates.
Another tip is that always be fair on your part. As your trust increases , the more it will be easier for you to trade .
As people will trust you more and then the trade might work smoothly without any scam

Thanks for the advice both of you. I am planning on starting very small. I've set my cap at 0.4 BTC, if I lose that then it's done. If I make money I can keep building on that. I'm hospitalized right now and I was hoping for more volatility in BTC after then announcement. I've been left with a stable bitcoin and nothing to do but database homework lol.

Anyone have a link to a good margin trading tutorial? I'd like to give it a shot for fun. I'm on Bittrex but I could use another exchange.
1.Do you think it's fun losing your bitcoins ? Not a productive way of using bitcoins.
2.Those tutorials won't cover up all the necessary use cases involved in marginal trading,in short only actual trading would get you exposed to the details and not just a single tutorial.
3.I'd say, give it a shot, start with 0.01 and carry out your first marginal trade by yourself, without any references.

http://www.lumbridgecity.com/margin-trading-poloniex. Though margin trading has a lot of inherent reward and loses you need to know how it works in other to be successful in it. Money management principle you set for yourself will serve as safeguards to your risk capital.
