I spent time on Potcoin myself last night. I agree legalization is imminent in the US (no matter what out of touch Jeff Sessions says).  I’m a financial guy and that sector has been one of my favorites to explode.  However traditional products like stocks are limited to 1 world wild that isn’t a penny play basically (ADR-GWPH). So that said, I don’t see legalization being close enough to give that Alt credence anytime soon. I understand the central network part, which is big...but if crypto is the way to go they’re gunna have to be lighting fast with payments, cheap etc. IMO Bitcoin will be the payment play (lightning network high hopes) world wide and they’ll not want to mess with both. I want to like it!

Is there a coin that is strictly for medical marijuana purchases yet? I feel like that might become something.

PotCoin is an ultra-secure digital cryptocurrency, network and banking solution for the $100 billion global legal marijuana industry. PotCoin is the first digital currency created to facilitate transactions within the legalized cannabis industry. PotCoin is a community based effort.

Hi all,

I was researching a little bit more into coin usage, and I feel with the eventual legalization and decriminalization of marijuana, it would take off in that direction. I have heard of THC, DOPE, and POT, but I was wondering what are your guys' thoughts and suggestions on these kind of coins. Still new to this, so any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Weed is illegal in many countries. making a coin out of it is not really a good idea. definitely anti illegal drugs agency will after you for promoting marijuana.

THC, DOPE & POT coins have all seen some ups in the past weeks, if you're looking at hodling for some time, then they might be good.  On the other hand, I own iBAKE Denver the first private cannabis club in Denver, we've been around for 5 years and we just really started getting people using Bitcoin this year, so adoption of those coins on the masses are still some time off even with legalization.

My thoughts:

Sure, whether or not you're for or against marijuana legalization, think about it; how would a new marijuana-focused cryptocurrency help? You can transact via bitcoin/monero for instance and maybe converse via some encrypted messengers. Correct me if I'm wrong.

There is already a lot of ICOs concluded and ongoing related to Cannabis industry. Cannabis is legalized in various U.S. states. So there´s a reason and a oportunity in this market.
