Everybody's playing the crypto market by the ear, seat-of-their-pant, and throwing everything plus the kitchen sink at it to see what sticks

Mark Cuban is a good guy. He just doesn't know when the bubble will pop. Given the growth of blockchain technology, it could be many years from now.

He's merely pointing out that this type of price movement isn't normal.

Honestly, he's just speculating like the rest of us. Most people would tell you it's in a "bubble". The problem is, the bubble could pop in 3 months or in 3 years. No one knows. Not even Mark Cuban.

I must have missed the news, can you provide a link or something?

http://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/06/mark-cuban-calls-bitcoin-a-bubble-price-falls.html

He probably wanted to buy some and knew he might push the price down a little with his tweet.

Seems he just got into BTC:

I just saw it too. We all know that Mark Cuban is super rich already. But I don't know why is he so negative about bitcoin. This is the first time I heard him talking about bitcoin. Maybe he didn't believed in bitcoin early and now seeing that the price of bitcoin is so high, he started saying negative things so that the price will go down and he can amass a lot of bitcoin during the crash. Too clever for Mark.

Note: I'm putting this thread here because the value of BTC strongly influences the alts.

I'm trying to parse the logic behind his BTC value comment.

a) Is he trying to manipulate the BTC/alt markets?  If yes, dude  SU.

b) Is a master of the Universe giving us poor schlubby peasants some of his "valuable" advice?

i) If we do take this message board seriously, he doesn't even rank as a newbie and he has to undergo the right of passage by having at least one email exchange with the Spoetnik. So dude SU.

ii) In terms of complaining about valuation, BTC geographically, is probably the most widely traded "financial instrument" in history. Given the number of people and their distribution, if you believe in free markets BTC is probably the best there is right now, as opposed to the Thurston Howell III circus know as the NYSE. The visibility of the blockchain at least presents some information about what's going on.
