I think we don't really need social media to advertise ICO's or promote such token/coin. Social media is just a gateway for potential investors though there are still many investors that didn't believe on cryptocurrency. It's not a loss, we already had many crypto portals to advertise and this is enough to get the attention of real crypto oriented people. There are also many bounty campaigns that would help you out with their wide range of bounty participants so you could stick with them. We are cool  Cool

How do companies create brand awareness?

first they start an actual company not some nerds in their parent's basement calling themselves "company" and asking for funds through an ICO.
then they actually do something in that company, like offering a service or an actual business in general.
and finally they start advertising about their real company or their real product that they will actually deliver in that company!

in this case they can advertise their stuff anywhere and nobody is going to ban them.
for the rest, their option is bitcointalk signature campaigns since here there still isn't any restrictions on what people put in their signatures. however you still can't put a banner ad among bitcointalk's banner ads because theymos doesn't accept ICOs.

So now that all bis social networks closed ads for cryptos (Twitter will apparently also close ads) https://news.sky.com/story/twitter-to-prohibit-range-of-cryptocurrency-ads-11293387
What's the best way for to let people know about new projects and campaigns.
It's very hard to start a community from scratch without this tools.
How do companies create brand awareness?
The channels the community have left are Bitcointalk, Reddit and Telegram.
How to use these more efficiently?

I think the signature campaign is the best at the moment. You only need to participate in signature campaigns or social media campaigns on ICO projects. You need to find ICO projects on google or click on signatures of members working on bitcointalk forums to access an ICO project. You will need to fill out the application form and read the rules carefully before working. But you need to have a lot of knowledge about cryptocurrency to make high quality and build articles.
If my post is rewarding, give me a little merit.

Actually I'm not so concerned about ICOs but for already established brands/company/product.  For example exchange platforms, brokers, etc.
It important to be able to get to the new people who want to know more or directly join the community.
Most of them don't know about telegram, bitcointalk, or even Reddit. Not to mention these social platforms are not as user friendly as the ones most people are used to use.
If they cannot find the web of the companies in google they might feel a bit lost on where to look for them.
So Google, FB, Twitter ban is for all companies and professional working in an area related to cryptocurrency not just ICOs.
Any ideas?

They just close ads, but not with posts about crypto created by media accounts. So I guess we are not too worried about that, while every new ICO holds a bounty for their project.

Indeed, which makes bounty campaigns on twitter etc even more valuable to these startups.

I guess we will also see some more shitcoin campaigns here if their advertising on facebook/google/twitter is being cut off.

They don't actually close the ads for crypto. and I think you can still advertise your ICO's there just make sure that you can provide a legalization of your business the same as google ads. Just to prevent scam cryptocurrency to spread in all over the internet.

These articles kind of suggest otherwise, ( that it is indeed a ban on ALL ico's, but that it might be temporarily) https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/30/facebook-is-banning-cryptocurrency-and-ico-ads/

I don't really see telegram being a good replacement for twitter/google ads/facebook. Reddit ads themselves might be able to take on that role which was previously carried by google/facebook ( cpm/cpc ads), but i doubt that they won't ban them anytime soon aswell ( the promotion of ICO's.).

Telegram currently looks to me to be the best social platform which, on one hand, lets you keep your privacy at a much safer level and on the other hand, lets you get all the news and even share them freely with your friends. The only drawback here is that there won't be any "desktop-based public posts" as we see over Twitter and Facebook, but I believe that there should be a social platform made just for the sake of talking crypto and promoting it. I'm currently in talks with a very reputed person and we may come up with the same concept in order to remove these gaps between the crypto community and the developers of older/newer projects, the gaps that are being created by almost all the social mediums and even the world's most famous search engine - Google.

Well, this is not only the place where you can promote your ICO you can advertise your project here just wait for the admin's auction where you can bid to place your ads on the forum. You can check this as a sample auction https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/advertise-on-this-forum-round-232-2664093
or you can start a signature campaign, this is a common marketing way to promote their ICO projects here in the forum.
