googletanslate:

"Despite the efforts taken by hackers measures to protect the botnet control servers, knowing the protocol of communication TDL-4 with a management server, you can create custom queries and get statistics on the number of infected computers. Analysis of the data held by us, has identified three separate databases MySQL, located in Moldova, Lithuania and the United States and supporting the work of a botnet for proxy servers."

"Nearly one-third of infected computers located throughout the United States. Judging by the price of affiliate programs, contamination that number of machines in the U.S. costs 250 000 USD, which, apparently, and forked the creators of TDSS. It is noteworthy that the Russian people are not in statistics. The reason is that affiliate programs do not offer payment for Russian users contamination"

why does windows even allow access to the MBR, even with administrator rights?

I really don't know the answer. The karpersky guys is almost "give up" i hope they don't.
You won't know what a bad "geeks of geeks" dudes can do to Millions dollar project.
Millions dollar is at stakes here.
It won't stop them to infect Mac OS and other OS.
It looks like, a lots of user get their OS infected, control bitcoin client from MBR.
It just not detected yet.

Perhaps develops a specific OS just tobe a wallet is good too to prevent further future attack.
Closed source would be nice this time  Smiley

If the "Hero" title guys at bitcoin networks gives up as well.

BITCOIN IS A VIRUS?

Didn't you know? It's a wetware virus! Once you get in touch with it, it's in your brains and takes hold, making sure your attention is constantly on forum.bitcoin.org and bitcoincharts.com.

The good news: Eventually, it'll make you insanely rich. Always, inevitably and for certain ;-)
