Besides, a lot of the symbology (they're complaining about in the first video you linked to, at least) is included in games precisely because of the attention it receives, and ultimately because most people find those symbols interesting - not because of some great conspiracy involving every game and film producer.

I have to admit, the first few seconds of the trailer got me worried, graphics wise. Cheesy

Now, it seems the team that's going to do the remake includes some of the people involved in the original Master of Orion series, so that should be good news - as in, it will hopefully not turn into another Master of Orion III (for those who didn't play it, it was probably the worst of the series). Still, I'd prefer it if they went on to include more options in the game, more in the style of the Space Empires series, as opposed to just revamping the graphics and AI of the original.
