I have actually never seen any gambler using a mastercard powered bitcoin card to play to gamble.
Seems to me its just a plus to the bitcoin ecosystem, rather than just being towards Gambling. I see it being used more by merchants.

I think that sooner or later big corporations will wholeheartedly embrace bitcoins. The reason is that coins allow for creative accounting and tax evasion beyond what is already available to big companies. At least in theory.
Mastercard feels that Bitcoin may be successful now.
It is good to see big businesses supporting bitcoin which will mean that the masses will know more about bitcoin and cryptocurrency soon.

It's good to see this kind of thing even if it's not going to be widely used in the mainstream yet.
I'm patiently waiting, sitting on my stash in cold storage but if these early attempts (such as in the OP) are successful then more & more financial institutions, card distributers etc will integrate & set up bitcoin facilities.
I'm not going to take the plunge & start using bitcoin debit cards etc yet but I will once/if mainstream adoption occurs in a few years or more.
