I am very optimistic about this sidechain, so I invest in Matic and work with many projects on Polygon. We can see that Matic is really popular based on daily volume on Polygon and given the fact that it has quite many projects connected with NFTs. Actually analysts agree about this, so according to predictions we are to expect 7$ in a year.

I will be very happy if Matic just hit $4 this year. Matic is very undervalued right now, With the recent dump of Bitcoin Matic also dumps. If anyone wants to accumulate Matic, it's a good time for that. Matic's price is currently $1.24 and it's good to support If this support is broken $1 will be strong support for this coin. Buying a few in this zone also placing an order above $1 for the worst moment. The developer of this project is very active and social media is very updated with regular posts. Investment in this project for the long run is a good choise.

the current matic is very impressive and the concept offered by the matic is different today. maybe matic is worth juxtaposing with the tron, solana and bsc networks. but not for ethereum because ethereum has high transaction fees. matic is preferred because of its low cost
I think not only are the transaction fees low, but Polygon is looking at the value to take a different direction to avoid depending on the Eth 2.0 lf sharding upgrade.  that's the Zk -rollups route, but even compatibility of NFT minted without gas with EVM can easily convert that NFT to ETH with full success, shortening the entire index when  minted on ETH, this gives the advantage of polygons and a great value for users.  I think Polygon still has a lot of potential to grow.

The scope of Matic is still not as big as Ethereum, so it is not feasible to be close to Ethereum, because in terms of age it is also very different so it will take a few more years for Matic to expand its scope and also increase its development in all aspects.

MATIC as created for things that are more simple and efficient. due to the merger of ERC and BSC. I think currently MATIC has a good development just waiting for a good market cap to increase MATIC's name to a bigger one in crypto.

Before it was BSC network at every corner of the crypto space and gradually the batton is moving to Matic where their network also offers cheap gas fee for transaction as well as considerable high speed, which is even quite better than that of BSC network currently. Using SOL as an instance, the price grew massively because whatever the team were working on paid off and attracted a lot of projects to their blockchain, that means the more projects launches on a blockchain platform the more that platform grows thus the price increase. Therefore, Matic team needs more impoverishment and more attractive features to bring them to the forefront of new projects, such that, new projects will find their network more preferable than others.
Nevertheless, the team have done great work so far which has made Matic coin very good for long term holding in my own opinion.

I've been looking at Polygon for a while, but there is one question that stops me from investing. What awaits Polygon after the merger of ETH and ETH 2.0 and the full transition to PoS and the launch of sharding in ETH 2.0 network? Buterin promises after these updates lower transaction prices and fast transactions, then why would networks like Polygon be needed?

I don't really know much about Polygon network but from the little I know, Polygon will continue focusing on building a scalability solution for ethereum even after ethereum 2.0 with all the promised features arrived. Until that time, their team has plenty of time to start working on a new direction or product so that their network doesn't become obsolete.  For me, the primary project I'm holding is a layer 1 project (NEAR blockchain) - while it's not an ethereum sidechain or anything of such nature, it has a layer 2 project that would scale ethereum and eth dapps called Aurora.

Your concern is valid if all what has been promised is delivered and reduction in transaction fee really happens  but we all know that even London Hard fork failed to bring down transaction fee in stead it has gone up. Ethereum has very poor record of delivering their promised projects on time and worst part of it is that planned objectives are not achieved. What change merger of Ethereum with ETH2.0 will bring about, that yet remains to be seen.
In terms of Polygon's latest plans, it looks like they're ready to take a more ambitious route to decoupling from reliance on ETH if ETH's sharding upgrade goes ahead. More important are the issues related to the roadmap for implementing optimistic rollups like polygon's ZK-rollups. It seems that polygon needs movement to support advanced processes and special support. I love polygon and believe in this development to come.

Maybe because the cost on the Polygon network is still very cheap and even 100 times cheaper than BSC, so there's no harm in needing a Polygon network at this time because considering the costs on the ETH network are still quite high and not stable like the others.

Matic is gaining much more community and therefore investors, in fact it is being seen that it can give a much bigger bullish surprise, all the technical indicators point towards it, as shown in this article:

Polygon’s MATIC Primed to Revisit All-Time Highs

Quote
The wallets on the network with 10,000 to 10,000,000 MATIC have acquired roughly 54,370,000 tokens since Aug. 22, worth more than $76 million.
Source: https://cryptobriefing.com/polygons-matic-primed-to-revisit-all-time-highs/

I know the news can sometimes be bad advisers, but this time Matic is making a lot of noise and investors are putting a lot of money there.
That's basically news about how rich got richer, and that's not always a bad thing, if people who already have matic ends up buying even more matic, adding on top of that matic that new people got as well, we are talking about bullish for sure. Getting new people is the most hard part, and matic is successfully doing that right now, but getting the people who already have matic to end up buying 76+ million dollars more matic is also an insane deal, that's not normal in most coins cases.

I personally believe that there is a good future in this, I can't say if it will be today or tomorrow or anytime later, but I can say that there will definitely a better future for sure, just no idea when that will be. I am not growing my amount just yet, I found another coin that I am accumulating for now, but I will get back to matic and get some more in the near future.

MATIC is a development project on Ethereum's L2 layer and was chosen by Ethereum as a solution when launching ETH 2.0
We are seeing a lot of tx being done on MATIC. I think MATIC's capitalization will increase even higher in the future when ETH 2.0 comes out.
The recent declines show MATIC's strength as it consistently bounced above the $2 level and failed to drop below $1.
Why ETH 2.0 would need polygon once it switches to 100% POS? I was thinking that by doing so Ethereum2.0 will enhance scalability and decrease fees and therefore there is a risk that polygon will loose its utility... I am a polygon holder by the way but I want to understand the future of polygon... Are you sure Ethereum has chosen polygon as a layer2 instead of its own?

Please allow me to answer your question. ETH chose MATIC because the solution offered by this project was good and ETH did not have to take a step to renovate their project. In other words, ETH has saved considerable effort and time.
You can also find the answer in the most scientific way using the links below.

There are many projects developed on the L2 layer of ETH such as OMG, LRC, SKALE, MATIC... but MATIC's technique is the most suitable.

What kind of future will Matic have with ETH2? Not much need for it after. Matic is good only for short term IMO. For longer term I would go with complete blockchain like Harmony ONE or even Ada.
Im not sure about that. ETH 2.0 will change nothing for those platforms. Matic and ADA will still exist even when ethereum already fully migrated to the POS system.
Even when the tx fees on ethereum got cheaper again and people are still using BSC, ADA, and matic. it's not only about the scalability solution for ethereum will change anything and it's not possible to make it back to the condition before so many people faced a big problem with ethereum tx fees.
But Matic depends tightly on Ethereum it has been built to make Ethereum scalable. Even though they explained in their white paper that they can also scale other blockchains like polkadot or ADA in reality those recent blockchains (polkadot, ADA... ) don't need polygon they are already scalable and interoperable with other blockchains...  Polygon is trying to resolve an old Ethereum issue that new blockchain promise to deliver, the only difference is that polygon has already done it and it's used and other are just promising or testing so I think we should follow closely how this will evolve...

I didn’t have time to buy MATIC on the recent price cut.
This is the largest and most well-known project that will be supported by mining pools, exchanges and exchangers.

That is in your opinion, and obviously will not be the same as other people, because apart from all people who are free to argue, they are also free to make their own choices based on what they have researched correctly, so every suggestion from the other does not mean it must be followed, although good.

Thanks for admitting it is good Smiley.

IMO I doubt anything can fix ETH long term, it is fundametally flawed and broken. Attention will then shift to ETH2 and even then new blockchains will come. It is evolution, it is inevitable. What we all need is flexibility to leave outdated projects at just the right time.

Why wait for eth2 when other blockchain are available who can get the job done, I also doubt the eth 2.0 will resolve the issue and most importantly will be executed at the earliest, if we have better alternative then it is a good thing for devs to avoid dependency on a particular network,
Who knows maybe the attention will shift to matic soon.

The centralization is definitely an issue. At least delegation should be possible without user' assets leaving from their wallet. This model is definitely more interesting compared to a single node where you need millions of tokens to contribute to the network.

I do not think so. By creating additional layers and side chains, Polygon is designed to complement Ethereum's design. It will complement Ethereum 2.0, too.
Polygon seems poised to become Ethereum's swiss army knife after all the developments and partnerships that have taken place since the rebrand.

In other words, like I said, a tool for fixing what can't really be fixed. Don't marry this token. Divorce could take half of what you own. Have a romance but that's all.

How much money/stake is required to be fully part of the Network and take part in consensus/governance? Should be very affordable for most/all visitors who wish to be fully part of the network. If not,  you can't really call it a truely Decentralized Network. It has to be Decentralized enough to let anyone easily run full node and take part in full network consensus. That's a good Principle (Satoshi's Bitcoin standard) truely Decentralized Cryptocurrencies should be based on.

That's the dark part of this project as per their latest token economics paper before moving from matic to polygon 80% of tokens are team, founders and network related. They did not update that paper since and there are questions on network sustainability once token supply stops.
You can find infos here : https://blog.matic.network/matic-network-staking-economics/ but again this is not updated.

I have been following this project for a while, what is really impressive is that it's developed by a small bunch of developers with good advisory board and a small funding. It's true that Polygon is just a protocol to connect Ethereum with other blockchains while some would argue that other big projects are promising full interoperability and lot of other services.
However this project is concise but do deliver a product that works and has already a number of customers using it. ConSensys has already partnered with Polygon so this is delivering from both technical and business sides.

L2 solution hype is already started and polygon/matic is the leading one for this hype. As long as everyone keeps hating ethereum for gas fee problem, matic will have the hype more and more bullish is still on the way. Not only about price jump as more and more dapps are deploying on matic mainnet or many projects shifting their projects from ethereum to matic mainnet for scaling up and get solution of the current gas fee problem. If it continues the hype for more than 2 months, than polygon/matic will sure to hit more than $10, IMHO. Lets wait and watch out the market as we're still on the bull market , but correction is going on ATM.

Not your keys, not your coins!
Exchanges support to move USDT on Matic network and that stable coin can bring more interest in MATIC. It rose too much and I don't see any safety guarantee with MATIC if I join it.

Even when the general market is bullish, MATIC will have to go with corrections. And the general market now is not too good so MATIC is more risky to join. I am bullish with Bitcoin in the last three months of this year but MATIC, I don't know. I smell some risks with MATIC.

Before when people didn't talk much about it, I had a small investment with this coin, and now I find out that it has become a big sum of money. Honestly, I am very impressed with its growth, can consider Matic as one of the coins with great growth in the market over the pastime. And when I look at how they work with the project, the more answers I have for its growth.

This coin really taking off, not to mention some of the awesome projects on top of this blockchain and tbh I actually prefer MATIC than BSC atleast with MATIC we get the best of both worlds (ETH and BSC)

the growth of dapps in their blockchain also seems considerably good, if they can keep up maybe they could get into top 3 in no time, but tbh the reason why it keeps going up still baffles me a lil bit, does anyone care to explain why exactly this coin could get pumped so high other than that they are starting to gain fame in defi world?

Matic Network is platform where you can create smart contracts as on Ethereum , Polka dot and Tron It is  a Layer 2 scaling solution that achieves scale by utilizing sidechains for off-chain computation while ensuring asset security using the Plasma framework and a decentralized network of Proof-of-Stake (PoS) validators.

Matic coin has shown extremely well performance during the past weeks and its price recovered more than 100% yesterday when crypto market started recovering after huge dump last week. Its next likely target is $ 2.35 if breakout comes from current level.
