heres what i want to do and i have done it in the past

i use to be able to mine with phoenix miner and play games at the same time without any hashrate loss.
i  did this on my 3400g processor. it has an internal graphic built in.
i now have a 5700g with built in. its a new system and when i play age of empires 4 it will take my 3080 from 98m/h to like 20.
my other system would continue mine full hashrate.
is there  a settings im missing?
i have plugged monitor into the motherboard and not the 3080
  thanks for any help
you bassicaly wan play game render on igpu, but that depend on the game itself, mostly run dedicated gpu, in laptop you can use nvidia control panel to switch automaticaly what gpu are used for gaming, in desktop pc its doable with modify setting in game config. well isnt easy with these method, only per-game implemented not global override

Any bios update when upgraded cpu?

Have a sniff around the bios NB settings close look at igfx set as main then maybe check 4g decoding is on and resize bar on.

I’m running trough steam and think that might be the issue.  Going to put a rx580 in its place and see what happens.  Keep it all amd for now to experiment

Yes it’s odd.  I even put the 3080 on a riser. Not even in the big pci slot. Tried everything.  Any suggestions?  In amd software it even says my 5700g is the primary one.  It doesn’t affect the 5600xt at all.

Confirm that the 3080 is actually working when gaming. Also confirm gaming performance with and without the 3080
installed to see if it makes a difference. You could also try different games to see if they all do it.
There might be something in the game settings for this.

I'm not a gamer so this is speculative.

The built-in Vega 11 graphics card is enough to play Age of empires 4.
The main video card must be Vega 11.
In the miner settings, make only the RTX 3080 video card active.
Although, to be honest, it's very strange that your hash rate drops so much. The video card has enough memory and can perform 2 tasks, but sometimes freezes are possible.

You can also change the default gpu for the game you're playing. Just open up NVIDIA control panel and find your game, change the default graphics to your built-in GPU (on the 3D settings afaik) and then it's done. I think your CPU just redirect the task to your GPU even if your monitor is connected to the onboard graphics card.

if 3080 is your primary gpu then you need to lower your gpu graphics settings of the game you play, if it was the opposite then you should lower the intensity of mining to get more frame rates. Anyway, in your case, you need to make sure igpu is enabled and is active then your system will use the igpu and not the gpu. It seems your system sees the 3080 as the primary gpu, go into bios and change that, enable the igpu and install the amd drivers for that igpu.
