McDonald's is now the wrong way to launch coins, which may cause the price of coins to be unstable. It is important to know that the price of McDonald's in different countries is different. This will make McDonald's accelerate the decline. McDonald's is not enough to issue its own coins. Only Google, Alibaba or Zuckerberg can issue their own coins.

McDonald announced on Sunday the unveiling of the MacCoin. The business world thought this to be the fast food giant’s venture into the world of cryptocurrency. It turns out that MacCoin is actually not an alternative to Bitcoin. Instead, it as a value coupon that can be redeemed for a free burger.

The token is being rolled out by the company at 14,000 restaurant locations that are spread across 50 countries. This coupon comes as a way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ever-popular Big Mac. McDonalds has announced that they will be issuing 5 designs for this coupon, one for each decade for the Big Mac’s existence.
So this maccoin will have used to create a new coupon system which will have used for short term only? is this true? It looks this is a news that will not give any impact to the crypto. that means this coupon is free to be used by everyone. I understand about this coupon has been issued by mcd for its anniversary and no more.

McDonalds has the resources (money) to bring all the manpower necessary to create their own cryptocurrency, but I think they're not doing it now because we're still in the early stages of cryptocurrency.

I think once the adoption phase kicks in and awareness about cryptocurrencies grows, they'll either create a coin or adopt the one that's being used by most merchants around the world, which will most likely be Bitcoin. It's all a matter of time, they'll eventually jump into the cryptocurrency bandwagon.

Yeah I read that as well. Kind of disappointed, because MacCoin project was one of those that should have "relaunched" the interest in crypto currencies industry. I really hope "crypto currency fewer" is not going away and big chains will find the interest to invest back in block chain. Also don’t forget it is the end of the year. A lot of companies are counting their profits and there might be simply not left any budget for marketing.

Yeah well... just give it some time and I bet McDonalds will enter the cryptocurrency world one way or another.  Rather it be through their own coin and project management or by adopting some other crypto currency... just don't worry because it will happen.  There are so many articles already out there that support this hypothesis.  I bet the recent merchandizing of their commemorative big mac is sort of a prelude of what is to come.

I nearly believe about this McCoin, I guess crypto fans did that picture with a label of McCoin because I saw that picture. I think McDonalds just rode that hype and its a free advertisement to them.

This is only one of the many ways of marketing and it is work because the cryptocurrency has so many hype now. They mke really good advertising and earning more.
This is very true.

Of course he won't cause it's useless to create an own coin for his brand cause nobody will use it as payment cause it's illegal in so many countries cause cryptocurrency is not legalized. Beside it's not easy to run a big brand like McDonalds so I think he'll not have enough time or staff to create and control his own coin, if he's really going to do that so this crypto market will have one more shitcoin for sure.

We do not need every store or chain to launch their own coins. Such coins are not really needed but some may launch anyway to cash in the next boom.

Stupid rumors. Even if McDonalds did launch a crypto, how on earth would it ever get value? If you trade it in for food, then it can only be used at McD. Why would I buy a token to exchange it for food? Might as well pay for it. Only deal would make people buy it if it was about shares and profit but SEC would make sure it never gets approved!

i guess they just jumped in into a popular wave, to make themselves even more recognized (as if they need to). somehow it feels like they end up creating some crypto oriented stuff, though

Another rumor in the ocean of rumors. I'm looking forward when regulators will punish news companies for such manipulative news

I haven't seen this Macoin yet but upon reading the article about it, it sounds like its not like other cryptocurrency, its just a commemorative coin. According to the article only 6.2 million MacCoins will be distributed globally in more than 50 countries. Article was written a few months ago but till now, I still don't see any of this MacCoin in my country.

Wow, this is good news. There are many McDonald's branches around me. If the news is true, then I am happy to buy it! And this may become the next round of market power!
