How dare you come onto this board and say something logical and sane

Unfortunately, the decisions of Eurozone to tax save accounts on Cyprus soil, was just one of the last broken promises that we have seen, since the beginning of the economic malaise in Euroland. Maybe this choice was made to decrease the value of the Eurocurrency to more acceptable levels for domestic export; maybe it was an attempt to tax Russian capitals for Euro-crisis. It does not matter. It was a political decision, while the ECB was primary designed to sustain the stability of the Euro without interferences of policy makers. The idea was that an independent monetary policy would better succeed in building trust in this new currency for the long run. Now "Cyprus" is responsible to drop to the bottom level the confidence of Euro citizen regarding Eurobank System.
