Hey there! I got a task from the client to setup, configure a medium size farm if 50 pcs of antminer s9, but unfortunately didn’t find anything except Awesome miner advertise ….

My experience of keeping and managing is limited of 3-5 asics or below 5 6-8-cardsGPU farms etc
I would say an experience of a toddler Cheesy but anyways

The client provides a special storing with condition, electricity, security etc
For now I took a load balance + switch, will have a broadband ethernet + 2 LTE for link backup. Additionally there will be a server within the network for controlling, monitoring and managing miners, maybe also proxying, besides probably I will set an RPI with some software (35 bucks is not a big deal though… Smiley )

So far I wanna share the experience and maybe listen to some advices if someone already manages or used to manage such project.
How do you control the farm - temperature, hash rate etc?
Which software do you use for control or managing (for example if you need to change the pool)?
Have you used anything of these for such projects: Minera, Cryptoglance, Awesome miner, Antminer Miner Controller, Stratum Proxy?
Is it better do in a pool or solo or maybe nicehash?
If a pool then which one?
Any other advices?

Those big gamblers which I know - they all just use ant pool without using their brain and hire some “anykey” guys to maintain via VNC/RDP/TV…

If such topic is interesting for public, I’m OK to post some here some info of the configurations, and news of managing of this farm.

Thanks in advance!

I am interested to hear it. What are the functions of the software. Maybe I can explain it a bit to me. thank you

With such a tiny farm there really is little need for monitoring software. There are many pools out there you can set to send you downed/slow machine alerts via email.

As far as mass pool changes there is actually a bitmain tool linked in another thread that will do whatever you need. You can use it to pull live stats from all the machines as well as re-pooling and a few misc changes I did not list.

Mining solo is a terrible idea if you want regular profits. Using nicehash is just as bad since you are basically giving them a portion of your revenue for no reason.

You can literally run 50 miners off of an ISDN connection, there is no need to run an internal proxy or anything else like that with your setup.

I wouldnt recommend any of the mining software you mentioned (minera, cryptoglance, awesome miner) because they are either made for a home user and do not scale very well when you run a fair number of miners. Others just cost too much and are inflexible with their licensing at the large scale.

Interesting and useful..Thanks..
So I Think I WILL pass on using Awesome miner..I will FIND that bitmain tool you suggest..I will check if my ISP is ISDN...
For my 8 S9's I should be fine...if Oct 1st. ever arrives
