I had issues with the new Claymore update meaning it crashed my machine and when it did run my GPUS were guzzling   power.  In the search to find out why it was not crashing I came across a post of someone who wrote a comment to developer that said that the new release did not work well with his type of GPUS "tight" timings.

Even after modding my own bioses using instructions from tutorials, I still have very little understanding of it.  I understand the principle of moving the lower timings higher to the higher voltages it makes the GPU work harder, that it the straps I see in PBE are parsed values from the hex bios pull from the GPU.

Like a trained monkey I copied 1750 timings to 2000 and experimented with the Ubermod timings for the 1500 strap and achieved a high hash rate.  But after getting 30-31 per card the new quest became trying to lower the wattage.

So what did the guy mean by too "tight" timings?   Do the modifications that I made fall into the category of "tight' as well?

Lastly, is the only way to lower your power consumption through a custom bios mod?  Or does the Powerplay table in the registry need to modded also?  Or do the new Voltage Object values that would be used in a custom mod need to just match the Power play table values in order to function optimally?
