probably not a good idea to put your full serial number here. You can easily lose your warranty if company A or company I notices their returned card matches a serial from this post.

no these arent full serial numbers, you only need the first 4-6 characters.

More trouble than it's worth to create and maintain. GPU's manufacturer's change memory brand depending on what's available. From my experience, the higher tier models have a better chance than the entry level cards in having better quality VRAM.

yea i kinda agree, but i wouldn't mind if people post their S/N an i make a list. i found some serial numbers that helped me save a few thousand $$.
i would hope these new cards i have are atleast micron, micron pushes out great numbers.

i also found this, seems like the strix 580 oc version only has samsung, but then again thats only according to this:

Hey everyone!! I am hoping someone can direct me to a master list of memory type by GPU make and model Serial/Part Number.
This would be a great idea if it does not exist so people can return their GPUs before opening the box, since you cannot get a full refund for any GPU package that is not in it's original sealed form.
I just recently picked up 2 brand new ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 580 O8G Gaming OC Edition and would like to get memory type before opening. THANKS AGAIN!

This is my info:

*MSI*

GTX-1060-GAMING-6G

S/N: 602-V328-22SB = MICRON MEMORY
S/N: 602-V328-13SD = SAMSUNG MEMORY

*ASUS*

ROG-STRIX-RX580-O8G-GAMING

S/N: HAC0YZ = HYNIX MEMORY
S/N: H8C0YZ = SAMSUNG MEMORY
S/N: H7C0YZ = SAMSUNG MEMORY
S/N: H4C0YZ = SAMSUNG MEMORY

ROG-STRIX-RX480-O8G-GAMING
S/N: G9C0YZ = SAMSUNG MEMORY
