if you have such an addiction or even had, I'd suggest to follow your own advice (number 2) as cryptomarkets are very speculative and can be compared by many as a gambling house

After the recent Resorts World Philippines incident a News Network have asked an expert regarding the behavior of the assailant. I quote, "being addicted to gambling is not so much different from being a drug-addict."

Back to the question how oneself can avoid being addicted to gambling?

Like being addicted to Drugs, there are stages in addiction to gambling.

    * The early stage : this is when occasional gets to a regular visit to gambling houses/sites. -To prevent the person getting worse, that person needs a different environment and another interest where the person can spend time on. Ex. Sports, Art, Community Service etc.

*The middle stage addiction : This is when a person gambles what he can afford, though some obligations are missed. A person in this stage is visiting gambling houses/sites even if he give up commitments like work, etc. - To cure this behavior, counselling is a must. Getting advise from family or co - workers or if the person is not against going to a psychiatrist, that will be much better.

*The Hooked Stage : This is the worst stage people may get into if not prevented in Earlier Stages. Mostly, these are people who felt the feeling of being the lucky one. Others call it beginners luck. This person go to gambling houses/sites even if he don't have the money to play with. This person is also prone selling personal items(jewelry, car, house etc.) and also take loans just to be able to play. - Don't give up on these people, they are the ones who need somebody that will talk and listen. Medical attention and spiritual guidance are needed. If the person is willing to, get him to a rehab-facility.

I was in the 2nd stage, probably almost in the 3rd but came to a realization that life is short, I have to do something meaningful. I am now a member of a volunteer group of emergency first responders. I still visit gambling sites but not to the extent that will be trapped in it.
