i have been setting up bitcoin merchant accounts for quite some time. but the problem with systems like bitpay and coinpay is the settlement only occurs once per day. that is ridiculous, because bitcoin can gain or lose value in seconds, let alone 24 hours in a day. i seem to remember a story of this guy that approached bitpay and he was a car salesperson and someone wanted to pay for an 80,000 dollar car in bitcoin and bitpay said ok, we will lock in the bitcoin to usd value for you. great, so why cant bitpay do that for merchants. that is i why i switched to imerchancom - it is completely ridiculous to only receive settlements once per day - so i thought coinbase would be better - turns out, once a day as well. but another problem with coinbase and bitpay is they have no recurring, subscription support. customers have to be emailed again rather than be sent invoices. it is a pure headache. i wrote about it on onmyminddailycom and a few merchants started agreeing with me. the core problem is many bitcoin merchants have membership businesses where we offer downloads and services. my business right now is offering software downloads so if i didnt switch over to the company i found, i would be stuck with companies like bitpay and coinbase that settle infrequently and do not offer technical support for subscription businesses
