Merit doesn't have to be gained purely from extremely factual posts either- humor or other entertaining or interesting material on here is also regularly merited as long as it isn't over the top or too offensive.

Doesn't hurt to have decent grammar on here either. Doesn't have to be perfect, but as long as it's readable without any guessing it's fine.

You can find a lot of histories of real people who ranked up here:

Inspirational stories from self-made promoted users

Many people shared their histories there, so you can take a look and get some advices. It is possible, but it not effortless

hi guys,

I am new to this forum, and I already know to get a high rank I have to get merit,

well I've here read some guidelines and some threads related to merit,

but here I want to know directly from the users about what and how many posts can get merit.

or maybe you can attach some sample threads about posts that get a lot of merit

thank you
I think you should not care about the rankings when participating in the forum, try to learn the experience and knowledge that the forum brings.

Just be yourself, post in the topics you are interested in and share your knowledge where you can. Dont post thinking how many merits you will get. Just take part in normal discussions and they will come sooner or later.

Merits shouldn't be your aims on here ,you should concentrate on contributing to this forum and help other newbies with solutions you are very familiar with.

Merit worthy posts? Your posts need to get the attention from the people who are holding smerit to spend.Which might be useful for them or others.

Good english skill and better sentence construction will help that too.

As long as the posts are quite helpful then it should be given merit and always stick to the right process, not to a dirty process.

If you want to learn how to create a quality threads/posts, read this: [GUIDE] Making Quality Thread + Grammar Check
Grammar check was also included there. Goodluck!

Additionally pay some attention to the subject of your topics as well. They should be short and precise and a reader should know what kind of content he can expect just by reading your subject. A subject that says 'MERIT' written with Caps Lock On isn't really the best choice.

Whatever OP does, please keep in mind that plagiarism will result in unhappy ending. Hence, please stay away from plagiarism, and be extremely careful whenever using Copy & Pasting (Ctrl P & Ctrl C) source of those contents should be added in order to avoid plagiarism.
I wrote my guide on this, here: [TIPS] to avoid plagiarism
I highly suggest OP to read it some times before starting a career in the forum.  Tongue

I am new to this forum, and I already know to get a high rank I have to get merit,
Well, you already did know what is required to rank but it's not merit alone that will help you increase your rank and that is activity points that you can get by posting to threads or creating threads.

well I've here read some guidelines and some threads related to merit,
but here I want to know directly from the users about what and how many posts can get merit.
It's one step you already did by reading some guidelines. Importantly, guidelines are your tips on what to do to get your posts merit. Anyway, you should ask yourself that why do I need merits? lemme guess, your answer would be I want to increase my account's rank right?. If you are truly reading some of the threads and guidelines in the forum then you know what is the purpose of the merit system. You don't need lots of posts if you know how to be a constructive forum user or know how to contribute in the forum in any way you can.

thank you
You're Welcome and good luck. My advice to you is that don't focus on getting merits alone or else getting merits will become harder and harder. After all, we are not here in this forum just to received or get rewarded merit. Consider opening the thread provided by CryptopreneurBrainboss which will be very helpful.

but here I want to know directly from the users about what and how many posts can get merit.
The ratio of received merits per post totally depends on post quality. The higher your average post quality is, the higher the ratio is. There are some users whom have total merits (all earned or from airdropped + earned) outweight their activity points. There is even a @nullius, whom earned 777 merits, with total postcount is 928, and activity point is 168. If @nullius was actively within last one year, he even would have ranked up to Hero Member.
In contrast, some users can make hundreds of posts and have not received a single merit.

Do not aim for getting merits. Better aim for having a good discussion with the bitcointalk community. Of course, you also need to increase your knowledge about cryptocurrencies so you can be constructive in your posts/comments.

Merit only can be earned once you put some effort on your post/thread. Be constructive and useful to the community, you will get merit easily. There are thousands of example but I have taken one from the 1st page of help and beginners board- https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/some-suggestions-if-you-want-to-use-tables-on-bitcointalk-5157728
It didn't get much merit but it's a good example.

You don't need any more explanation, go back to those threads (guidelines) you claim to have read and re-read them until you understand better what merits are all about and how to get them because what you'll still get here are repeats of what the guidelines you earlier read were taking about. You get merits mainly by contributing positively and nothing more.
