Maybe you should find another way of earning merit and building a trusted reputation other than by attacking those who've called you out for your various abuses, or said mean things about your stupid puzzle.
Conspiracy theory again about a puzzle or bla bla bla ... lol, i don't even know how to code.
The problem between you two was here in the beginning: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54004369
I don't think it started there rather here.

I reported the user, ansi for Plagiarized content. Based on the report, he got banned on 10.03.2020. 2 hours later, CryptoManiac2017 wakes up after 3 years of inactivity and makes a post here.

https://i.imgur.com/JbnclEk.jpg

Later ansi pinged me via Telegram and threatened to make my online life miserable lol and a few minutes later CryptoManiac2017 posted this thread.

https://i.imgur.com/S6zincM.jpg

Conclusion: CryptoManiac2017 is an alt of ansi.

Reporting OP for ban evasion. Let the mods decide  Grin
Don't take it so personal lol, i'm sure couple days later you'll try to guess that i'm someone else too just because i reported some of your shitty posts.

As i said before, it's up to the admins, don't feel so butt hurt & that the whole world is conspiring on you.

Some decent members made it clear that Merits can be abused = problem solved.

You can continue guessing me as someone else, up to you & like you said "have a life".
It was just a simple reporting OP, no big deal & YES the admins will check if i am that guy "ansi" or that other dude, who knows, may be i'm all those members lol.

Just for the record, why would you report someone else's post & make his account banned just like that? just wondering  Roll Eyes you could've always PMed him about his post, like that "ansi" dude, his message to you was 100% logic (no offense to Indians though), did he hurt you by any means?
I don't think someone sane would be happy getting someone else's account banned & enjoy his miserable life after that, but who knows, some people like this (you) do exist.
That ansi guy (except his mouthy racist words about Indians) have a point though, you can't deny those facts he told you about.

And what if I send one Merit for your post this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.22477390
which, worthless and weighty, do I blame him, no.
So how, if I send one merit to you, what are you, key to this topic and find a good and useful idea, post it here to get more merit, so that you will be a superior ranking.

Op,
How my offer agrees, or continue this discussion until one loses and wins.
As i said before, stop attacking my ass instead & give the Merits to anyone, any shit post you like, up to the Merit holder.
I know that Merits CAN'T BE BUSED NOW, so shill a lil bit.
Nothing to prove in here about loosing or winning, just reported something that " i thought " wasn't ok, some members made it clear that it wazsn't a big deal & that there is nothing called "Merit MisUse"& they said that "politely" without being D***.
@CryptoManiac2017
Why aren't you posting your attacks against akhjob from your mosprognoz account?  I know your attempted witch hunt against eddie13 didn't go as you predicted, and you stormed out of here in a huff.  But none of us believed you were going to stay gone.  Now your here with a new witch hunt against a new target, one who (you must have surmised) may not generate the same amount public support as eddie13.  Well, you're probably wrong again, but why use the sock puppet?  Did you think we wouldn't notice?

Some decent members already explained how Merits can't be abused & up to their holders to whom they give (i get that idea now)without being so paranoid like some of you

CryptoManiac2017, posts you quoted is from Wall Observer, and if only you look for example the last 50 or 100 posts you will see that users there are very generous with merits. Unless there is strong evidence that someone is using alt accounts for merit abuse, or that someone is buying/selling them there is no basis that we can talk about abuse.

The point is only in the perception of the observers, to someone something seems quite justified, to others completely unjustified. What many people actually misunderstand is that posts must be top quality to get merits, sometimes post just need to be funny, sarcastic or maybe rude.

What I notice as a daily active member of the forum is that some members have their favorites when it comes to rewarding posts with merits, but it is only a matter of personal preference, do you support someone or not, do you have anything against someone on a personal level...

Never thought that posting a simple " link " may get you such number of Merits  Huh
Depends on what link you're posting and why.  I've given merits for posts that don't contain much more than a link, but those have been cases where the link is a very useful piece of information.  Someone posted a link to some kind of death toll counter for the coronavirus, and I appreciated it and thus merited that post.  Is that merit abuse?  Absolutely not.

Merit-giving is very subjective, which is why I don't tag suspected merit abusers--there's way too much subjectivity involved.  And OP's comments here seem more like jealousy than any real concern that the merit system might be getting abused.  I would suggest just moving on and not letting it bother you.  Even if there is abuse going on, it isn't likely anybody is going to get tagged by DT members anyway.  It's not worth the mental stress IMO.
Noted that thanks, now admins can just close the thread since it's useless.
I thought merits can be "misused" though, but now i know it's not  Grin

I think we all need to calm down a bit. Yes, it can be frustrating when you make what you think is a good substantial post, but you get no merit - and then you see someone throw out a one-liner and pick up a couple of merit for it. Apologies for meriting the post in this thread, that was pure devilry.

Merit doesn't always work out on a post-by-post basis, but it does tend to even out over the longer-term. I have managed to gain a fair amount of merit recently, but I have plenty of what I think are good posts that get nothing, the last two threads I started, for example:

Jeff Bezos saves the World!!!
Democracy 2020

Just relax. Merit will come on average, over time. No need to get stressed out and start seeing abuse everywhere. Sometimes you get it, sometimes not, no big deal.
Thank you man for your kind post, finally someone that isn't in the conspiracy theory & attacking my ass for just "reporting".

The problem between you two was here in the beginning: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54004369

I have seen people send Merit thousands of times, in one word post, try: zzzzz 50 Merit, if I show it to the OP, it is very likely that the OP will be pinned.

So stop this drama, "misusing Merit" Merit, not moderated.

OP, put an end to this dispute, you don't get anything in this thread.

As i said it before, i just reported something i though it wasn't "right" & now it's up to the admins, they may see it as plain bullshit (probable), so it's up to them not to you guys who kept attacking me for no god damn reason.

May be i should stop reporting shit poster & spam or whatever in this forums so you guys be happy with your lives

I agree, or better still complain with his main account and stop being an a**hole.
What? What main account? Stop being so paranoid  Grin
The admins will check if i have more than 1 account & ban them if they found any  Cool
Reporting merit abuse is a good thing to do yes, but I don't see any case of abuse here. People can merit a post simply because they agree with it or think it adds something.

since you have tried to detect user akhjob plagiarism here, this thread now could already be seen as stalking Tongue
I can see no violation here and the issue is therefore closed for me.

there are often posts that contain very little text and still help a lot of users. such posts regularly receive more merits than posts with 1000 words but 0 content.
Yeah man, conspiracy theory. I better not reporting any of his posts anymore (even the shit posts) since there is a gang on the forum defending him & attacking me for doing something like "reporting, bad me & not leaving this to admins as supposed to be.

Not every merit sent is an abused, especially when it's not a source merit.

From what I can tell, almost every of the posted quoted above were deemed to be merit worthy by more than one user(4 posts merited by 9 different users) how is that by any means an abuse ?

Well, let's see what the admins say about that. My job is to report when i see something "not ok" or fishy, the rest is up to the admins.

Merits transaction isn't moderated, and admins don't give a shit about how users decide to spend their sMerits, however, Theymos might be slightly concerned, so it's best you send him a PM with you claim, who knows ? He might agree with you.

I think OP doesn't understand a quality post looks like. From what I've seen and read even one liner post but gives a lot of message in it is considerable as a quality post. Even merit-worthy posts scattered in the forum are not seen but it's ok and there's nothing to worry about. This forum doesn't revolve around merits you know. I may have not seen many but maybe there are mods that are double-checking reports or consent.

It's not just posting links, it's giving facts with the source of the news/article/thread.

Now you're telling some users do make great posts but without merit? Can you link them here instead?
If it's really a quality post, not just copied from other sources, or translated to their local then there's no way it will not be merited.
Well, i didn't see them as " quality " posts that deserves so many merits though, but who am i to know that.

Yep. Nothing to see here. A few posts each getting very small quantities of merit from some very well-respected members of the forum. Not the slightest indication of merit abuse, nothing whatsoever.

Nobody in the right mind would do that even as a joke

Requesting a 35$ loan and now losing 32k $. Get a life dude.

Bakkt just launched two new products:

• Bakkt Bitcoin Monthly Options:
The first CFTC regulated option on futures contract for bitcoin
• Bakkt Bitcoin Cash Settled Futures:
A new cash settled futures contract available on ICE Futures Singapore

https://twitter.com/bakkt/status/1204046280072318976

Never thought that posting a simple " link " may get you such number of Merits  Huh

Now that dude Heisenberg_Hunter is like following & " Meriting " his posts randomly, he's the more " Merit " one to that member. (16 times lol)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1235090

Some people are doing great posts & don't get so many Merits as supposed to be while some random posts get dozens of Merits, i guess it's something to reconsider on how to rank on this forums or simply make a better " Meriting " system.
