Here is my opinion

I'm fed up with rubbish merit threads from new members - merit is here to stay, and it is working - Just live with it.

I do not believe that something special really changed during this two months. Spammers are spamming  and shitposter shitposting. The only thing I see is that all of those users can't rank up to start to earn through the forum.

Lol!

I came to the meta forum to learn how to earn more merits, but for the most part all I see is griping. I do feel like getting merits is difficult, especially if you are like me and aren't willing to basically write an article worthy of publishing to earn a merit. I'm pretty sure I will have enough activity to become a legendary by the time I earn enough merits to get to the next level. It's not really a big deal to me though. I prefer that there is noticeably less spam.

Becoming a member doesn't seem too hard if you are determined, and ranking up does seem like a good bonus for constantly writing quality posts, however I still don't see many people -even some of the best posters - going from Full Member to Hero or especially from Hero to Legendary.

It would be cool to see a list of people who are "on track". By that I mean a list of hero members who will make legendary in the same amount of time they would have without the merit system in place.

But why if will be applicable for the entire system for a long time then it should be improved that everyone will accept it and it should be a fair chance for everyone.

AGREE!
However, I agree to lock the topic (because lots of same topics had been discussed in Meta or Beginners & help before moderators deleting all of those trash topics). Therefore, the topic should be deleted too (if possible, but what I know is topics in Meta board can not be deleted, only be moved or locked). Locking the topic seems to be the best solution.

For me I agree, regards with merits system. Many are useless posters, spammers etc. Merit system is very helpful to us, its help us to improve our post and make quality post. And others are very abusive to merit system like in some campaigns especially in those bounty campaigns and this time many have been participating in bounty campaigns that have been abused by lower rank members. And others are abusing the merit system In a way that giving merit to her alt accounts.

Here's my opinion in regards with our merits  system. I know how the merit system works and how it affects the community it helps the users to be more productive, control spammers and useless posters. But what I've seen in the system is it is more focused on the people who are poor in posting, spammers, etc. but not with the people who really deserves merit

I've seen many people who are worth merited for but I've never seen them getting any merits.  Sad Another issue, I've seen people who has a lot of merits and most of them didn't share  or give merits to others.

This is true and I would give the merit system more time to mature first before speaking such. Give it time, let merit sources actively work on every sections of the forum and let them work on their "merit economics" - that is deciding how much merit to spend every month. There are merit sources who are running out of merits withing a few weeks - just an example of their generosity which many people dont know and tend to think that they have specific people who they merit only and not newbies.

Here is my opinion

To conclude this, Yes it's very helpful to have this kind of system but also there's also an disadvantage. All of this are my opinion, how about you?

The purpose of merit system is to reduce the spam of the forum, I do not think that it was able to achieve that completely. I am still able to see a lot of unnecessary one liners being made by members to complete the denied activity. They then arrange merits by some alt accounts. Good thing is that genuine members are now making a lot of useful posts which has brought up the overall standard of the forum.

Haaayst. Come on you guys, why do you keep posting about Merit System? We all know that Merit System has disadvantages like when trading it, giving it to you friends and sometimes post with quality are not given Merit because no one noticed it. But let's just accept the fact that Merit will remains the same although we created a lot of topic about Merit repeatedly.

You just said
is it is more focused on the people who are poor in posting, spammers, etc.
So it means you fully understand the reason why Merit exist.
But somehow, I agreed in this statement of yours
I've seen many people who are worth merited for but I've never seen them getting any merits.  Sad
Yeah, it is true. I'm sure that There are some posts out there that deserves Merit but sadly, no one can notice their posts because no one seems to be interested or something.

In my opinion. Merit systems exist to control spammers and to given who have a good post. I am also new in the forum. It is hard to collect merit. But i know that merit system is for mankind and i accepted it.  I suggest to you, if you don't accept merit system because it is hard to up your rank and make a good post, maybe you could buy account. Of course With high price

If you disagree with the merit system, so what's next? My suggestion is you should leave the forum if you can accept and live with merit system. And Meta board is one of the most interesting place in the bitcointalk forum, but now it looks like a open-landfill for shitty-poster, merit beggars come to cry, to complaign, to wait hopelessly getting merit from generous users by crying, and complaining.
Such annoying users don't deserve any merits!

As Jet Cash suggested, you have to accept and live with merit system. If not, as I suggest you should leave the forum and find other ones.

Here's my opinion  Wink
The forum is now pretty occupied with topics about merit. Whether it's fair or not, how to improve, bla bla...
Most often topic created by merit hunters. Jr.Member and member rank stand out in particular.
as a lower ranking member, you do not have big restrictions here, except lower paying rate from signature earnings. if you are interested in crypto and you want to learn something new, you will not have a need for merit very soon, you will earn enough from your new skills.
We can talk about merit results only after six months or more.

The intention is Merit system to encourage quality post but what really happen now is favoritism, nothing about Merit is gong on right now, first world high ranking members english speaking mostly abusing lower rank members gets most merit for merely gossiping about Merit, not even a content, zero quality at best.

Let me try to translate that for you, hopefully this helps you learn.

The integration of the merit system was to encourage quality posts, unfortunately I feel it has solely led to favouritism. English speaking established members are mainly abusing lower rank members and gossiping about the merit system, these posts lack content and in my eyes are zero value.

It's not exact as I really couldn't understand most of your rambling but there is a small lesson in English

With a political system put in place like the merits you are always going to have people who did deserve them but didn't get them, and people who didn't deserve them and do get them. Sadly this is the way of world and there are politics nearly everywhere we go. It was cool that Bitcointalk was free of that for a while, but it seems the changes were for the better. But at the end of the day you gotta suck it up and figure out a way. As the saying goes don't hate the player, hate the game.
