Remember merit shown in account doesn't decreases. What shown in merit official thread shows a chart with required merit for ranks and not a merit count per account rank.

I don't see any bug and think, he is punished enough for losing two ranks. I also think, that merits are recalculated once a year, so that he will lose the rest of his merits.
Edit: But we could introduce negative merits, earned by deleted spamming posts.

I don't think it's a bug per se. Everyone was basically given merit depending on what rank they were on when theymos launched the system. This was a one time thing so he probably used a script to award everyone the initial merits. That means merit has nothing to do with ranking down as far as the code goes.

But yeah this guy might need his merit adjusted lol.

I tested a while ago and mentioned that my alt judypug1956 was able to give my major account philipma1957 a merit point.

to me that is not good at all

If there were justice in the world, he'd get busted all the way back to brand new--but either way, this guy is only one shitposter and I doubt he's going to be moving up the ranks to even Full Member anytime soon with the garbage he's posting.
