merit system used to raise the rank of jr.member to member with special conditions you have get 10 merit, and more merit for next rank

Of course merit is very important to raise your rank, for example like promotion in a company, with promotion you can have more chance, trust, link, and other profit that is not owned by low position.
and indeed to be promoted is not it appropriate if there are conditions that require you to need more trust, links, and experience.
which I know is the example of his parable

more details you can read post that talk about this

Merit will help you to reach a higher level that is "Member", you need at least 10 Merit to up.
If you do not have Merit even though you have many activities on the forum but you can only be at the Jr Member level.

Thanks, guys!
 Was a big help!

The latest feature of the merit system is it's use as a detector of new members who are too lazy to read the stickies, or the numerous threads about it. It lets merit awarders put people on ignore, as they are unlikely to make useful posts if they can't read the other threads.

Just as an indication of this, I've got every person who has made a post before this one on ignore, so they won't be able to receive merits from me.

You also need merits for you to rank up. So, merits are really important.

What do you mean by saying that?
I understood to rank up is just by the number of comments each post has
Am I wrong?

Hi there, welcome to bitcointalk. If you’re asking about our new merit system, it’s just like points for reward if you post quality ones. But this can be subjective. It’s given by people who has SMerits. Those are merits that you can give to other members if you achieve the qualifications, or high rank.

The  trust stat is different from merits. Merits measures the quality of posting you’ve been making. You also need merits for you to rank up. So, merits are really important. Don’t forget to follow the rules while posting. Have a good one!

Hey, I wonder if someone can be kind enough here and explain me the whole "merit" system
I know you earn them when you help someone or write a very interesting or helpful message
But after that, what can I do with these merits?
Does it improve my profile?
Does it give trust in me?

Hope you can help me:)
Thanks
