If you need to get some information or just have a good idea to share - you do not need the merits nor status increase. Perhaps that should be the aim of your visit in this forum - not the merits.

it looks good to keep doing it but someone should give you merit. sometimes even if you post really helpfull post you wont get any merit it depends on people and you can't force them to give you merit.

I also read some nice presented post on some thread, I don't comment since it has many answers already. This good post I've saw never been given appreciation with this merit, maybe they don't like giving one. Or sometimes people have a high creteria for awarding merit.

Hello Community,

Still don’t understand the way merits are granted to forum members. I actively participate in forum discussions every day  providing  my input and insights. I post some useful news about crypto world developments and updates. Still, did not get any merits. And I also undestand one may not level up to Member status until you have some amount of merits. So, please tell me what am I doing wrong??? Thanks in advance for your advise!

I'm visitig this board to see if I can award any merits, and I looked at your post history. I can only see 15 posts, and this is because I have alts and local boards on ignore. The posts I read are comprehensible, but don't really add a great deal to the discussions, so unfortunately I couldn't give you any merit. I would suggest that you try to distance yourself from bounty hunting, and look at the broader and more interesting ( to me ) world of the Bitcoin economies.

You're doing everything right Smiley Merit is something like "like" on Facebook or Twitter, but every user has small amount of Merit to give, so it's pretty hard to gain it imo

Learnt about the merit system. I can say it hasn't gone mainstream just as crypto back in 2009. In time merit will be so all over everywhere that it will be sort of worthless then.

A lot of your posts are in "local" boards in what I assume is Russian... that cuts down on the number of people who will see and/or read your posts... Although, there are supposed to be "merit sources" in the Local Boards. Maybe they just have different interests and don't read the threads you post in?

Of the ones in English, a lot are in the "Altcoin" boards... again, that will affect who sees it... and to be honest, the vast majority of ones I saw don't seem terribly helpful or useful in my opinion.

My advice, avoid posting in long "mega threads" (basically anything that already has 20+ posts isn't like to result in getting you any merit unless you have something VERY useful to say)... also, you're probably not going to get any merit for contributing to "opinion" threads like "should I hold or sell?", "is bitcoin against religion?", "why do banks hate bitcoin?" etc... it's just newbie after newbie posting the same rubbish over and over and people who actually have sMerit to give generally don't read these types of threads.

If you really feel like you've made a post that is worthy of merit but seems to have been ignored... try the "link your merit worthy posts" threads like this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/smerit-post-review-2819141

You are doing right thing, if you continue it and help forum members, even without expecting merit, you will be eventually rewarded.  Good luck.

You are right to certain extent but at the same time, the reason why you are not totally correct is because even though you seem not to understand how its being done, merit still exchange accounts and people are ranking up gradually the reason why its not happening to you, I don't know but its time to start doing things differently. Having looked at your posts history, I discover certain things

1. Your posts are predominantly in the local section from the ones I have checked. How do you expect that I give merit to something I don't understand and using Google won't do any better.

2. Most of your posts recent posts are 2 liners and 3 liners, I just pass by because it does not get my attention in other to read not to talk of parting away with merit.

3. Try contribute on topics you have knowledge about and express yourself. For example if you an accountant or some tax professional, on topics such as "what is the tax implication of bitcoin" here you would surely have more than average knowledge than others. Make your knowledge known then express it. When you do all of this and the merit is not coming or not coming enough, then:

4. You can post on threads of those willing to share merit for quality posts and someone would surely appreciate the knowledge you have passed across.

For me, I think you must be patient because earning merit is not that easy.

Try to improve more by helping by community and other user without expecting merits keep doing it regularly and never expect something in return just be happy that you help and give useful info’s for sure the merits will come to ypu. Some reasons for your problem is not everyone will understand you maybe your sentences are not east to understand or your readers are not just good in english to appreciate your post. If you think you are the one who has problem in english improve your self use google translator but if not just make your sentences more easy to understand.

Your not doing wrong, just wait for those members who will appreciate what you have posted maybe they are the ones who can give you merits that youve been waiting for.

Which one of your posts would you say is the best, the most helpful and useful? Post the link here, and hopefully someone will be able to provide useful feedback.
