It is just available but it doesn't work if you try it (I didn't try it, btw  Grin).
Well, I did:

An Error Has Occurred!
You cannot send merit to yourself

So now that's settled Smiley

It was settled 5 fucking posts ago.  I guess you didn't read the 2nd post by the global mod?

It was a stupid redundant thread that was answered exactly the same 6 times.  Now instead of farming activity they are trying to be super helpful repeating the same answer over and over again trying to suck off the merit tree.

It doesn't work that way. It is just available but it doesn't work if you try it (I didn't try it, btw  Grin). And even if it worked, it wouldn't make a difference to rank yourself up as you would possibly get negative tagged for doing so because it would be totally a misuse of the system which is a legal offense in the forum. You are better off being a newbie with a positive trust rating than being a Hero member with a red tag on your profile. Atleast that is what I think.

In fact, users can not merit themselves because it is not the original target of merit system. Users can merit to their alt accounts, but over time their 'illegal' meriting activities will be discovered, then their main accounts will be tagged with red trusts, be banned (first temporary ban, then permanent ban )

Hi seems like you could click the +merit in your post .
So my question is ,Is it okay to give merit to yourself to rank up your account?
Any idea or thought about it I just fund out about it recently and I don't have sMerit to send for myself so I haven't even tried it out yet.

You can't merit yourself, it seems you can cheat the system if that's the case. This will only show that yourself is the only one supports your own topic and maybe the topic is not enough to be merited, that's questionable. The system is fair enough for all members here even in jr. members, you must appreciate little things and don't think about the disadvantages of this system because it's only shows selfishness. Don't think some obvious question in your mind and just explore things.

That option is visible but it will not work. And there is no need of such a question if you have some common sense. Suppose, there is a system where you the winner is selected based on number of votes given. If all participants starts voting for themselves (submitting votes from different account), will we get a deserving winner ? For this merit system to work effectively, we cannot allow sending merit to own posts. This will cause a lot of problems. New members will start spending all their merits on own accounts, just making the this system useless.

You cannot send merit to yourself, which is exactly what is says when you try. And even if you could this would pretty much defeat the purpose of the system in the first place.
