Merit is given to a user who post constructive opinions that are very useful. Unfortunately, not all who posts well are merited. Maybe all we can do is to just continue making constructive posts, and lets do it for the purpose of sharing our knowledge and ideas so we can help everyone in the forum especially the beginners.
its just a joke to give merits to those constructive posts? who can give and who have time to give? there are so many users on this forum and any action that shall be handle by people will be a big problem, especially the merit amount is limited

Merit sources patrol this forum at their own will. They have been notified by theymos (obviously) and they have imbibed the guidelines for merit distribution. There are currently 57 merit sources in the forum. Now what you need to do is to not shitpost and complain about the merit system and start making quality posts. Merit amount is limited to prevent you shitposters from ranking up and getting quick cash for shit-bounties.

In course of time these shitposters will become tired of shitposting and they will leave the forum. Something that will bring a radical change to this forum.
You are right sir, many sections here in the forum that they might have a merit source. And avoid those mega-thread that they won't earn even a single smerit, because of repeating replies and having a shitpost. Try to post those thread having a chance to have smerit.

We don't have anything to do were just a member here and then we follow what are rules implemented by our admins or those people ahead from us.

Hi folks! I am certain that my opinions through my posts are indeed constructive and viable to some members. I am stuck at Junior Member rank. I'm still posting enough to add it to my activity but it seems I'm never gonna rank up. Could anyone help me rank up? I'm certainly not begging but I want to share more important notes and points regarding cryptocurrency usage but it seems I will have to reduce the value of my posts because of these. Can anyone share their merits? For the future of sharing to newbies also? Thank you guys.

Asking for merits will get you negative trust.

The system is working as designed - people who post garbage that doesn't add to the conversation (like you) don't get merit points.  :/

I have seen this reply and this makes me laugh, begging merits is one of the issue eventually, some low rank members of this forum is asking for it and if they don't have it, they're making fishy moves. There are so many ways to get merits, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/list-of-threads-giving-away-merits-updated-12-march-2018-3048258 check this thread. try the best of your knowledge and luck. go work with yow ass.

Well, you have just expressed how NOT interested you are in the forum and rather just rank up to earn which some sees it as a shameful reason to be here. If you really care for the forum and try to be more knowledgeable and informative in a way that you are promoting quality to this forum, you will not have much of a problem about the merit system being implemented. It was for a greater good and try not to think more about yourself only.

I'm thinking criticizing OP on the reason or not the reason opening a thread like this isn't really the point because certainly, many users here can't speak against being ranked up or gaining merit. We can advise on patients , putting more effort to learning more and working harder.

Everyone who is stuck at one level or the other because of the implementation of the merit system felt they deserve more merit based on their posts but unfortunately the decision as to whether you deserve a merit or not is not in your hands rather in the hands of other who might feel magnanimous about giving merit and you cannot force them. Again, for the fact that you didn't get one additional merit since the beginning of this new era showed you are not doing something right that could attract the attention of at least one person.

The option out is to out more quality in what you are doing and if its not forthcoming, there are threads opened about giving out merit which you can apply if you think you deserve more than what you are getting. Checking your posts, I don't think anyone who give you one merit unless you improve greatly.

This is a classical example of spam post the Merit system seeks to eradicate. What are you up about there with words, really? May I humbly inform you that apart from your post being a waste of data, it exemplifies a WAY NOT TO MERIT A POST.

Yes, the sMerit is limited but if I remember it correctly, I read somewhere that there might be a somewhat merit reset, where you will be given again the default sMerit base on your rank.
I am not sure it's about a reset. Perhaps you are referring to the select Merited sources (also few too) I shall put up the link to that once I am hooked to it.

Edited: You may check this link. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-are-there-49-merit-sources-now-2825583
Though the list is deliberately concealed to avoid posters pestering the merit sources.

Mate, the structure of your sentence is so confusing.  Undecided I don't know if you're saying that giving merits is a joke or not.

Yes, the sMerit is limited but if I remember it correctly, I read somewhere that there might be a somewhat merit reset, where you will be given again the default sMerit base on your rank.

There are a lot of users that are sending merits to appropriates ones but its just that, shitposters and forum members that are spamming and don't have enough smerits anymore because they had given it to their alts, more or less, outweighs those users who have enough sMerits to give to helpful posts.

I checked your recent posts and you are posting good content. But there is huge content for merit points and thus you will have to make some exceptional posts. Ranking up to member level is easiest in my opinion as it requires only 10 merit points. This can be achieved with a single quality thread and many new members had achieved this. My suggestion for you will be to make helpful replies in meta section, something you have not done as per your recent posts.

discussing something that is happening now faster to get a merit, for example discussing about bitcoin prices.
or give statements that can help others, from my 40 posts, I only got 6 merit.
need a hard struggle to get merit, and do not complain. if you want to get merit then work hard.
I read a lot about bitcoin in articles.
every day I look for information to be made a new topic of discussion, in order to get merit.
In essence, do not ever lazy to read and learn

I understand you really want to earn merits and rank up for you to be able to enjoy the perks of high ranks especially in joining campaigns, but you must understand how the process goes and what are the requirements needed. As you can see, this forum is composed of lots of topics and you must be knowledgeable enough to construct good post quality so that readers will give merits to your opinion. Better focus on improving your learnings and continue constructing useful information.

Posters should read both the OP and previous threads before composing their own ones. Some one jump directly to answer after reading the OP will hardly get merits because their answer might be unnecessary, inappropriate in context of topic's dicussions.
And also have it a think carefully because you may not know your reply is already been discussed in a pleasant way.

Right! Joining the forum to read, to learn, to experience more before thinking about getting merits, and money from forum's campaigns, bounties, airdrops, etc. There are lots of useful things to learn in the forum, and there are lots of higher ranked members who are readily to share their deeply knowledge, skills with newcomers.
Just enjoy your stay here and read more, there are so many interesting things that can you read about here that you can also give your own opinion suggestion or even if its contradicting the OP. Dont rush on things there are always a lot of time, just imagine that you're still studying

No need to rush mate. As for you to reach that rank is also an achievement so dont worry about ranks and merits, just post whatever you want as long as its not off topic. Exactly. The topic creator should diversify target topics from Meta, Beginners. & Help, to Bitcoin Discussion, etc to increase probability to receive merits; but should not post too much in Altcoins boards and child boards because higher rank members who are most actively in the forum seems to rarely visit those sections.
Keep posting high quality, constructive (helpful and useful in contexts of each discussion), keep calm and waiting patiently; merits will come later or sooner. Don't pay too much attention about home many hours/ days you will earn merits after publishing your threads.

See if you believe that your posts are constructive and are worthy of getting merits, then dont think about merits at all. Simply post like you normally would and you will get some merits at times.

I have gone through you post history and I have one suggestion for you. Stop posting in the Bitcoin Discussion too much. Maybe you are new to crypto which is why you are posting there or getting to know about bitcoin in a better fashion. Gradually try to diversify your knowledge in crypto and start posting across other sections of the forum, but dont shitpost to increase post count.

Dont run after merits. It will come to you automatically at one point at the least expected time.

You need to be active in this board to lookout for opportunities like this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/14-merit-bonus-for-quality-users-jr-to-sr-member-3046992,

Since you believe you write very well, you should lookout for these members that are looking for posts to review and reward merits. It will be better than lamenting.
Don't worry you are not the one we are the same here but I think it takes a year before I got the Full member rank I stuck on this rank but I did not mind it as long as I'm happy sharing and posting my thoughts in the different section. If I were you mate don't post in a mega thread you can't earn there a merit just stick with this thread and sometimes in the service section.

Just try to look at this, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/smerit-for-quality-users-wednesday-challenge-week-3-3120360 maybe hugeblack will help us or other members here, don't begging them because that is against the law here.

All you have to do is keep doing the best. Improve post quality and never give up to get a merit point. Many people out there who are difficult to get it, but with hard work and contributions that can be given then we will get in accordance with the passage of time. Believe that when we do the best then the result will also be good. This is like a proverb but is proven to be real in this life.  It all starts from the bottom and if you are qualified then you will get (merit point).

As a beginner here I think your knowledge is not enough to gain some merits, maybe your posts are not helpful and useful for others or maybe its not consfructive enough to be merited so i can still call you a newbie like me, try to learn more about this forum and cryptocurrency if we do this we will be able to post more constructive content and we can help other members when we have a good knowledge about this. Give more attention on reading first.

This isn't the way to go about getting merit. You've been here barely two months so what makes you think you will never get merit? You will have 1.4 years before you would reach Hero so you don't think you can achieve sufficient merit in that time? Keep participating constructively and you should start to receive sufficient merit. If you don't after a few months then maybe come back to this thread but asking for merit is just going to be counter productive.
