^ Sending you a hundred phantom merit points now.  Use it wisely.  And thank you so much for your deep and insightful comment.  I shall always keep it to heart.

I'm also looking forward to more of your deep insights, not just about crypto, but in life in general...

I am flattered on this comment. Thank you! Every merit I will earn will not go in vain.

Are you both trolling each other or you just didn't get the point tokeweed is sarcastic due to your useless OP statement made only for collecting merit? Just curious.

It's obviously very proud, why ?
Because we beginners must have a competitor mentality, do not loosen our spirits, keep fighting.
If there is a problem there must be an easy way to solve, never give up a friend.

In fact, merit system is not a punishment on lower rank users. It is a strict punishment on spammers/ account farmers, on both higher rank members (such as Full Members and Senior Members). If those ones are spammers, lack of knowledge, bad English skills, they will (almost) never be ranked up to next level.

Glad to encounter a newbie full of optimism and high hopes! For the past weeks ever since the new merit system was established, I have seen so much rants on how the merit system is not in favor of the lower ranking members. It is refreshing to see someone who is willing to take on the challenge for the betterment of oneself and this forum. Thank you for openly accepting change and emphasizing the value of effort in constructively posting to be a responsible and good member of this platform. Keep your head held high. May more newbies come to the same realizations as you did and be encouraged to be better members of this forum.

Of course it is, the other boards are too cluttered to get noticed. Don't despair though, I suspect someone is working on a blockchain for merit points, and, if they implement segwit, then signatures will be on a separate sub-chain. Smiley

I wonder what would that be called? MERIT COIN?.  Cheesy
This board would be messy through time if People just keep posting something here to get noticed just like on alts sections.  Shocked

Just wondering, is it really necessary to post on Meta to earn some merits?  Huh I've been seeing a lot of merited posts from Meta and I think most of the people on BTT are now trying to post something here. LOL
I think so dude. See, you got merit because your're in meta.

Merits should be viewed in positive side. Though there is a dark side about merits but people should support and abide the rule. Even members will whine, this rule is already implemented then we under the rule compel to follow.

Rule is rule.whether you like it or not protesting on it it just exhaust your energy and will result to nothing.  In society that new rule of law is uphold there is always a whiners and against it, but later on they be used to it and will follow it as if there's nothing happened. It's just a mater of time the members of this forum will be used to merits rule.

Merits should not be view as a punishment or suppressor for the lower ranks. It should be considered as a training and a test that you are worthy of a ranks.
Honor of having a merits is the thing that we lower ranks should be proud of.  If we ranks up we earn it in a hard way which you will cherish it and savor every merits we earn.
Just continue the hard works, do more research we will reap then in the later.
'We will reap of what we sow.'

Even if you were to make posts of the highest quality, why would anyone give you merit? There is no reason to. Stop subordinating yourself by saying things like "us lower ranks should be proud". Lurk here a little bit and you will come across countless hero members shitposting like you wouldn't believe. Just because some members were here before you doesn't automatically make them wise.

Let's see how you feel in two weeks when you continue making high quality posts and gaining little to no merit, because the higher ranks you look up to so much have no incentive at all to give you any merit.
The merit system has it orginal good purpose, but needed to be adjusted a little bit. with the current one, we will see game of chances, of luckiness, of randomized sending merits from higher-rank users to lower-rank ones. The problem is high-rank users dont have too much time to scan all threads, all topics in the forum to give their merits to good quality posts, right? So there are so many good quality posts will miss merits that they really deserved. That is one of big drawbacks of the current merit system.

Yes, absolutely. From now it will be very tough for us to gain merit because most of the members will give their Smerits to alts.So we can gain merit from only trusted and popular member of this forum. And it's really hard to make them aware that our post quality is good.We shouldn't give up and try to contribute good posts to this forum.Best of luck.

you have just won 2 merits and as far as the question alts, well I imagine that for the guys who have many alts will not be any problem continue to participate in signature campaigns. now they have more advantages because I have seen some signature campaigns who now pay higher for those who have more merits.

I most certainly agree with you. Every low ranks should not be weary for every merit they get upholds their name and shows that they are worthy to receive a higher rank. Also, I am sorry for ruining the mood but you created another thread which can be placed here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-you-guys-think-about-merit-2824203 and some other threads but with little replies. Godspeed!

Me too, guy. Where is challenging, there also have ton of opportunities which we can take advantage of, and the merit system is not exception. When you passed minimum merits for next rank, you totally deserved that result. There will be less competitors, including spammers at all.
