Without needing to go through services such as bitpay & coinbase to make a purchase using such methods for off boarding your coins.

I've seen the good news first with Applepay that can purchase crypto not specific to Metamask. Now, Metamask has this option and it's a good news for Applepay users.
$400 is quite big already if it's per day limit. The good thing here is that, those doubters that are users of Applepay now have the idea that buying crypto, owning crypto is a real thing.

$400 is a good place to start from too. I've seen people make investments based on things they've bought irl (like if you invest the same cost of a meal for example just to experiment with it). Or people that go with investing a fixed amount of $5-100.
