I think metamask is good for claiming token. I actually don't use it for many reason. I prefer trust wallet more. Metamask is also good but sometimes I need to add token by myself and I don't like it. Eth is also going up now it is above 250$ and it could easily went over 300$ if this bull run continue.

Do not put all of metamasks success into ethereum only, they were basically one of the best erc20 token wallets out there in the world and they were capable of building a product that was both amazingly easy to use (even a kid can use it) and also work perfectly without any problems at all while providing all that is needed from them at the same time.

Certainly ethereum had an increase recently but look at the number of users on their platform, they have been consistently getting higher and higher even before ethereum went up and even when ethereum was under 200 dollars and not moving, they were still getting customers, plus they are doing some amazing work with EOS as well so all in all they were great even before ethereum went up and that means we can attribute their success to them and not ethereum.

Are you sure that ether's price crossed $300 because I just checked coinmarketcap and the 24hr high was $282 and so I checked the 7 day high and it was about $287.
May be ether's price would have crossed $300 on some particular exchange but the global ethereum price is still around $265.

As far as the record though, it's quite an achievement, I can't remember when did Metamask enabled it's extension, but having 1 million users already, damn, it just shows that crypto is really growing no matter what negative things people are saying about it.

I'm not going to be surprised if that numbers double in just a year specially when we enter the bull run. And they did a good job as well, as this extension allows web applications to interact with our wallet in a simply but very effective way.

There was a lot of talks about how their competitors was constantly getting hacked and getting other peoples money stolen, so metamask definitely did get a spike in user numbers because everyone was flocking to it while fleeing from the other ones. I personally always used it, it was early days of cryptokitties when it first came out, it required me to have something like metamask so thats what first I found and I used it ever since, over time you get so much free coins that worth nothing that I can't even follow what the hell I have anymore, which ones worth what and what my investments look like, I just have a general idea of the value but not individually for all of them unless I check them one by one. Using metamask made my job soooo much easier.

No wonder Metamask has been the favorite of users as it's the easiest one to access dapps and DEX. There are no other viable option for most.

Metamask is a wallet attached in the form of extensions in a web browser and IMO is the easiest to use, secure, and has many features too. it is also proof that crypto world is getting serious this year, the bear market has faded a little and this IMO is a sign of a bull run signal. between price and download metamask wallet in my opinion has nothing to do, but someone prefers to use metamask instead of storing a private key in notepad, namely multiple security such as having to enter a password to access the wallet.

I bet they reached that high usage because of the incoming bitcoin halving, why do I say so? Simply because they are converting what they have to buy bitcoin and ethereum. I often use Metamask back then purposely for selling my tokens but I've read some in Github that several people are having problems with connecting their accounts to Metamask. Last time I checked there was a loading error on some websites and exchanges whenever Metamask is activated. I'm glad they are having a good business up til now and guess there will be more people who will use Metamask for the crypto event this year.

It's no surprise metamask would reach these number of users. As a user of metamask, I really think that the application is very useful in adding protection when transacting with your crypto wallet. Being able to get notified when somebody is accessing your crypto wallet provides a bit of confidence.
