I've got this e-mail too, im sure this is the phishing. Firstly , look at the e-mail sender, looks like really scam. And i don't believe that ethereum developers could make e-mail newsletter, i think they would make official announce on MEW website. How did they get our e-mails? we didn't put them by creating a wallet.

Don't trust those messages. I would just wait it out until there is an official announcement on the their service thread.

What just do not invent scammers so that people themselves will tell them their secret keys. Administration MyEtherWallet has nothing to do with the addresses of wallets and their secret keys. They are generated randomly. Therefore, no update can in any way affect our secret keys to this purse. Therefore, such letters should not be paid attention. Moreover, when creating this purse, we do not leave any information about ourselves and no one can know your e-mail address.
it seems that i also get incoming email about it, but i didnt open that content. I agree with you, if the mew address is generated randomly, and if there is a renewal, there must be a notice on the main wall of MEW

e-mail from MEW?
I use also MEW,  but i can not remind me does i have register with a e-mail adress.

so i think is not a legal e-mail.
I am also using MyEther Wallet but I did not receive any message like this.  Maybe it just part of the agenda of the scammer to threatened MEW users.  So,I think those who receive such email should check first who is the sender of it.  Because if that is legitimate from the MEW team, all members should receive the same advisory but why some of the members do not receive such e-mail.  I smell something fishy from that.

This is just web phishing deliberately created to include our PV on the web, be careful if you find such things because they will take all the assets you have if you give your PV to the web, because this if MEW saves their updates do not will never email us specifically.

Any mails regarding MEW are SCAM. If you see any links to myetherwallet in your mail then it's definitely a phishing link. The only resource you can trust is MEW official twitter. So if you hesitate whether MEW is compromised or not, just visit their twitter page and read the last tweets. And always use Metamask to unlock your wallet.

It sounds very much like a phishing attempt. What address/domain was the email sent from? No doubt the form you need to fill in will ask you for your private keys, at which point they will clean out your wallet.
this email come from :
MyEtherWallet <[email protected]>

Ok, more discussion we don't need.
The e-mail adress Show it, it's a fake / phishing e-mail.

I think this grammar is wrong: "Unfortunately, the new computer code for generating private keys is already ready and we will implement it this fall." And using a service mail like Zoho mail is already a red flag right there. Report it as a phishing scam mail.

Hai all, I've got this email today :

What will you see?

Dear MyEtherWallet Member:

In connection with the recent theft of a large amount of ETHERs from users' wallets, we have adopted new security measures. We have done a great work and ready to share with our users!

update the private key encryption protocol (completed)
update the site protection against phishing attacks (completed)
update traffic encryption from third parties (completed)
transition to a new private key generation system with Secp256k1 on ECDSA (in progress)

HOORAY!

This is a huge success for our team and the entire crypto community. Unfortunately, the new computer code for generating private keys is already ready and we will implement it this fall.

You need to fill out the form and reserve a place for yourself. The form will be open from 16:00 GMT+8 on 30th March, 2018 to 16:00 GMT+8 on 30th September, 2018. Otherwise, you will not be able to activate your account with the old encryption key Secp256k1 from October 1, 2018.

How did you get an email from MEW? I don't recall providing an email address when I registered. Unless it is something new they are requesting now a days I would say that is a phishing attempt.

EDIT: I just saw the message were you mention the email came from "[email protected]" . Definitely a scam then. Always check the sender before doing anything. Too many people trying to scam crypto users now a days.

I think it's not MEW. In the registration of wallet they not ask us to fill our email. They only ask us to fill a password. It's strange if MEW can sent email to us if they don't know our email.
And also it said to fill form with your own data. Dude it's surely a phising. Don't touch it dude, be aware

My believe is that this kind of mails created by the scammer rackets, whose are always makes plans to stolen the coins of innocent peoples by hacking their private keys. As we all know that while creating the MEW, at that time MEW is not asked about our mail address, then how MEW can send us mail.  Please do not reply to any of these types of mail and should be promptly deleted if you want to save your coins.

I'm going to guess about it, the form you need to fill up ask your private key? and the wallet address? just a guess well don't open any attachment from that email as it may infect your own PC or device with a virus attached to the file, just like others opinion this is an attempted phishing and hacking from hackers via email, they will not gonna announce something from a suspicious email as they are not asking email to create a wallet in the first place, how the hell they will know your own email? as far as I know, they always do the updates on the official website and social media.

I don't need to even finish reading before concluding that this is a scam attempt. The mean reason for that is because even when opening an account on MEW, I can't remember registering with email address how then did they have access to have sent the mail  to it. Its just a cheap way and they are asking you to fill some details, I hope you have not fallen for this because if you have, then its purely your fault and your funds is never coming back.

During the MEW hacking controversy, did your coins disappear? Was there real stealing that occured to you? That is the first question that you need to ask yourself. If you are not involved in any of those then that is probably some fraud trying to steal infos from you. I'd rather not reply and do what he ask if that's the case.

By the way, I just wanted to share that during the MEW hacking controversy, I did not experience losing my coins in contradict to what other people are claiming.
no.. i did not losing my coin..and i dont reply this email.
Better not to reply, its too suspicious just like everyone said I don't remember MEW ask for email during registration. Better block the sender and don't click any link. Let's all be careful and don't fall easily.

MEW's emails are from "@myetherwallet.com". That is 100% a scam email. Do not reply, delete the email, block the sender.

I don't think the information is coming from MEW because I am suspecting some phishing attacks from idiot scammers who want to continue their fraudulent activities. Please be careful and know the kind of registration forms you fill these day using your private details because you never can tell where the attack it's going to come from. Our security is very paramount in this our kind of business.

It sounds very much like a phishing attempt. What address/domain was the email sent from? No doubt the form you need to fill in will ask you for your private keys, at which point they will clean out your wallet.

e-mail from MEW?
I use also MEW,  but i can not remind me does i have register with a e-mail adress.

so i think is not a legal e-mail.
I thought that MEW never asking your email when you are trying to signup to create a new ethereum address through MEW service. And that's obviously scam email. Because you need to fill that form and if that was true and MEW developer or kvnuhke must make an official announcement regarding it and that's totally a pising email.

Fill me Smiley

is this true? or phising?

Smells like phishing... I have carefully highlighted phrases in red that made me convinced that this is nothing but an attempt to farm personal info and private keys. Note how the mail consistently mentions private keys in a suggesting manner.
