Ad maiora!
i think the problem is most people are totally complacent. they dont care. the thinking is "I'm not doing anything wrong so I've got nothing to hide"

i used to say "in 20 years North America will resemble cold war Russia" that was about 20 years ago when i said that... i maybe was about 5 years off.

for some of us yes. maybe not for the mainstream.

This is ANCIENT news. The mainstream were told. They just don't give a shit.

The article is from 2013 but for some reason making the rounds today. I saw it posted on /r/technology this morning too.
the whole snowden whistleblowing thing was a pretty fucking big piece of news a long ass time ago, did people sleep through that entire 1 week period or something? that news was all over the place, did people actually manage not to see it? i dont even think its an issue of mainstream media.

The hugeness of a news item can be figured by the extent it's underplayed.

Now let's go to what we're supposed to be thinking and talking about.   Safe and allowed subjects.   Is Kardashian shaving her c---?
judging from the ray j tape, yes.

People need to remember that Microsoft/Skype are not safe to use. Even Linux distros can be tainted.
anything can be engineered to allow the government access, that's why open source exists, so people can at least look over the code themselves.
