Bitcoin has lost anonimity, or at least the major part, long time ago. To beleive that Bitcoin is still anonimous is utopia.
Big companies like Microsoft are very well aware of that. Also, they are aware they have to find their niche and role in crypto world and they know they have to follow all regulations and cooperate with governments and provide them their services in order to survive. That is why that what is left of Bitcoin anonimity is not their interest.

Why do you think that Microsoft has become so powerful and it seems like he is the only brained that we have, do you know how much money that government is making off bill gate’s invention? He built those computers, and government must have either contacted him to see what can be done to crack the anonymity and I think that he would have danced to the tune of the government to continue enjoying the monopoly being given to him by the government.

Even if he destroys that anonymity, that would still not stop people from making use of bitcoin because bitcoin has other features that is attracting users more than even the anonymity of the coin, so whatever plan of government is against the currency may not work, and satoshi himself needs to trying and be updating the bitcoin code if he is still alive, so he will proof to bill gate that he is not the only computer psycho.

Been observing the body language of  Microsoft's owner for a while now. He seems to be too obsessed with Bitcoin...thought it was for the love of it & what it is offers... never knew he was looking for a way to strip Anonymity off Bitcoin

According to an anonymous writer,  Billgate's company, Microsoft just adopted two softwares called OneName and uPort for the destruction of the Anonymity Blockchain offers it users. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-weakness-of-blockchain-is-the-identification-of-a-person-2099443

I still do not fully understand why big corporations want Anonymity destroyed.

Microsoft makes a ton of money by sharing information to NSA ar whatever other triple letter agencies that constantly spy on people. I mean Windows is completely closed source, when you use Windows you are just assuming that you are not getting spied (if you are naive) and you assume you are getting spied at some level if you are realistic.

They make money by also targeting ads depending on your behavior just like Google does with their data farming. They present adsense ads tailored depending on what you visit and search etc.

Pretty much this. If you don't want to get spied, you cannot use closed source products, period. You get zero privacy when using windows, and if you think you can opt out you are being deluded. All those little tweaks and registry changes it took you hours to move go back to their defaults after the way too many updates that you cannot stop (normally).

So don't bother with links to "cure" windows, just don't use it, switch to Linux or one of the BSDs, and no Apple isn't any better.

Well, when your existence is based on your willingness to share your customers data with your government, then you have to develop software where no customer can have any anonymity. If you do not do that, your government will not support you and you will have to close your doors. We know the USA are one big "Police State" and they want to keep tabs on everything that everyone are doing all over the world.  Roll Eyes

There are some companies that are trying to fight back to protect their customers, like https://www.skyhighnetworks.com/cloud-security-blog/apple-vs-fbi-who-really-won/

The First Amendment is meant to protect citizens against government attempts to limit speech, there are certain situations in which private companies can be subject to First Amendment liability.  Wink

It's all about money and power, I really don't like companies treating us like products and have profits with us, I don't have facebook or any social network, but it's very hard to run away from this, because they are on our e-mails, phones, tvs and etc
We need to say no to this because things can be real bad in a near future

I just remind you of story of sharing identity documents and personal data of users by Facebook with other corporations. This is enough to understand why big corporations don't want anonymity. Facebook had shared users personal data with some other corporations and this was disclosed.
What about sharing documents with governments? I am sure corporations share documents with governments too. Big corporations do what governments want.
Assume that a company intend to create a payment system. I ams sure they give all the personal data to the government to not get into trouble if a user does something illegal.

You don't get it?Really?
The most valuable online asset is the data collected from online users. If you are truly anonymous, the big corporations can't collect your data and use it for marketing purposes.
I don't think that Microsoft is "obsessed" with Bitcoin or anonymity in general. They are just losing the battle against the other tech giants and they are looking for a way to break through.

It's quite obvious dude, they want to disrupt anonymity so that they can steal your data. Data is the most valuable thing in this generation.
Big companies like Google, Facebook etc... have half of the worlds data since most of the people use it.
What they do with it ? They use your data to enhance their products while making algorithms that can potentially trick you into buying their services and also predict what the user is going to do next.
If these companies don't get our data then it would be a huge loss for them since their revenue depends on our data.
This is why they want anonymity to destroyed.

I still do not fully understand why big corporations want Anonymity destroyed.

Two main reasons:
1. They make lots of money selling people's personal data.
2. They often collaborate with governments.

Not only microsoft many companies share the personal information of the citizens in the each country to anyone who need to use it for survey and other purposes. I do not think so Microsoft will do that.
They cannot be able to collaborate with the Government and it doesn't work too.

Well that software would only work on people who actually bought from exchanges that required them to use their name and all that stuff.

If you buy from localbitcoins person to person or bitcoin ATMs, I was under the impression nobody knows who you are.

Also, people buy identities from other people(you can see that on the darknet). So a lot of people probably are anonymous anyways who bought BTC and have huge amounts.

The regular person probably doesn't care I would imagine.

Bitcoin isn't anonymous: https://bitcoin.org/en/faq#is-bitcoin-anonymous

The media keeps saying that it's anonymous, but it isn't. They, the govt, and MS would love for all of us to think that it's anonymous though.

I think it is all about the Advertisement, because without it you will not gain any profit at all in giving your products for free or whatsoever. Just like Facebook, we use it in a daily basis that it is free and offer zero charge at all in exchange we sell our information to them and with that they are giving us a bunch of advertisement. Being anonymous will cry out loud the big companies that caters advertisers because they will not know what will be the right advertisement will be toss to their users.
