the topic of Mimble Wimble seem not to have resonated within the community and I don't understand why. It is one of those few coins around that really adds something constructive and valuable, it is not just another clone of bitcoin...

I will give the topic one more try by listing the obvious advantages of the coin. Disclaimer: it is my understanding of the coin Smiley or as much as I could read from the press releases.

Its foremost feature is scalability. You see, Mimble Wimble keeps note only of addresses with funds, so there is no publicly available track of every transaction happening around the world like in bitcoin. It allows for much smaller (in size) blockchain.
Then there is the ability to obfuscate the transaction addresses and mix funds.
Then, the technology hides the transaction amounts.

So Mimble Wimble is disksize friendly and much more privacy oriented than bitcoin.

I would like to hear if there are any news around on the coin or it should be assumed the idea is dead?

Mimble Wimble seems to have solved many bitcoin problems, like block size dillema (that either you have large blocks and blockchain size becomes enormous, or you have small blocks and transaction fee price becomes enormous) with Mimble Wimble is solved in that way that they just store the addresses that have coins in them, not all transactions like bitcoin. But I have no current news unfortunately.

Hi,

a few months ago I read on coindesk about Mimble Wimble (wow, it is a tongue breaker ... and finger breaker when you try to type it) and instantly I thought YES! It was a great idea. Then once or twice some more news surfaced. But that is it.

Do you guys know any news, any new dates or announcement?

I can't seem to be able to even google their homepage.

It would suck if such a brilliant idea just died....
