Now, come to Nigeria wen the government no actual support the use of crypto currency for we country.
How you think say you go use explain this kind of thing to the police?
And watin you think say them go do if them hear say you nah one of the pipo way dey use crypto currency?
what's the first consideration should be your safety cause it's only when your safety is guaranteed that you can think of seeking the help from a security source.

When you don de safe, na from there you go reason if e de necessary to bring police into the equation or not to because normally, anything when carry police enter the matter you don complicate the whole situation and you fit go spend pass the normally money when you de try trade. Anything when go carry person go de relate with police for crypto matter na wetin person suppose try avoid by all means because the way those people de behave thier own worse pass thiefs own oh. Even though we know say crypto no de banned like that for our country as long as we already know say the level of regulation still never de favourable till now, e de necessary make everybody when de the space put in effort to remove anything when go wan implicate them from thier body. Thank God say legit exchanges de when you fit use run most of your trading so you no go involve yourself for sources when fit complicate things for you at the end of the day because people no really pure like that and anybody fit fall victim for this kind matter.

To my belief, anyhow you take explain, them go still think say you dey among those way they use cryptocurrency dey do fraud.
So the main reason why I carry this discussion come here nah say make we no try to do any face to face transaction (especially when you won exchange your crypto to cash). If you no see any Marchant try hold on for a while or use another exchange.

E hard to talk shaa but if we go imply some technical explanations, we go make the security authorities clearly understand say u no be fraudster in the first place.
No need to fear in revealing say u be crypto owner because we all know say cryptocurrencies no be illegal for we country jus say the government ordered our govt monetary places say make dem no interfer to execute any Crypto transactions.
No risk on for this matter just pray make u fit explain to their understanding be the main tin.

@_act_ nai be the   original poster  of this thread, as I see am say e go dey good if I share am here nai make me carry am come this board, so that all of us go also learn from this ZK guy mistake.

The reason why I carry this discussion come our local naija board nah because say some of us also dey fond of doing this kind of thing (intentionally), and nah something way go also put us for trouble if not treating consciously.

This nah the story of ZK (one random guy from Singapore) way try to sell em USDT for telegram but unfortunately for him, em no com see any buyer except one guy.. and them agree to meet each other face to face,,, then later the buy con change the meeting point to car park.... So to cut long story short, the ZK guy reach there, so as the deal dey go on, somebody way dey pass con punch am for face and nah there ZK take off.. run enter supermarket con shout for help (but non), so em con run go report the incident to police.

A 19-year-old Singaporean crypto trader was forced to abandon an in-person attempt to convert S$32,000 ($24,000) into tether (USDT) when he was ambushed by two men who punched him in the face and chased him through a nearby mall.

Mothership reports that the teenager, known only as ‘ZK,’ was attacked by the men after meeting the crypto seller in a car park on August 29.

As the deal was going down, ZK claimed that the men, looking like “regular pedestrians,” passed by before one of them punched him across his left cheek.

Afraid that the men were trying to steal his cash, ZK says he bolted to the nearest mall and shouted for help. They allegedly chased after him, but ZK says he managed to outrun them and report the incident to police.

That is why e dey good to apply wisdom in everything you dey do , if u want do any form of transaction with somebody wey u no know u need to dey more careful morespecially when money is involved.if u dey meet person for de first make u choose were u go meet de person and it should be in public .There are so many exchange were u can trade ur cryptocurrency so u don't need to meet the buyer or the seller before u trade so this kind of think can only happen to people that lacks information about cryptocurrency.

To avoid all this matter na to no dey do local deal exchange na, anybody wey want make we do deal no be by force for me and the person to meet, make we do the transaction through online and make everybody go E own way, for this life no trust anybody, even if you and the person don Sabi each for more than year you should no trust am say you wan meet and even if you want to meet person make sure you go with someone or your friends so that if anything happens you go get people wey go help you, because if you go alone nobody to guide you when bad thing happen for there.

And about the questions wey you ask say if na for Nigeria how person will take how report to police, even if the government no too like cryptocurrency matter for Nigeria no mean say if person get issue about crypto the person no go fit go police station, as far say na case wey involve life of person you fit go report, and if na Nigeria police anything wey concern where them too go see money chop they will collect that case and deal with it, the only thing wey concern them be say make you give them their share.

This is among the reason I often avoid local exchanges/vendors for p2p, I just want that anonymity nobody will really have their on me like this, I rather use the popular exchanges like the most common now for us Bitget and Bybit for p2p to avoid this, I remember when I was using a friend and then he started to ask questions and in order to just avoid every possible drama, I opt for the CEX, if they're totally banned then I might opt for DEX like Bisq rather than our local exchanges/vendors.

Even if the government are acting foolish in crypto regulation, this doesn't mean if something like happen in Nigeria we can't report to the police, I remember a thread in our LB when someone posted about the police arresting kidnappers who got paid through bitcoin.

Firstly many of us have to become knowledgeable not to be afraid to report to the law enforcement when we suffer criminal or scam attacks on our cryptocurrency and bitcoin, this is highly important, as long as your funds was not gotten illegally, why are many of us scared. We need to know our rights and be ready to fight and stand for this.
