For me is important to be POS, otherwise no point to hold such coins, just buy/sell for little income.

Premine is good because it saves everyone electricity and besides we all know everyone here cannot afford high spects hardwares to mine a coin, but the coin should have good value in the future and people behind that projects are indeed good in adding more features and updates.
it is correct if the project really got a good intention and the people behind are people who really care about there project but if not i guess premined will ruined the the project as we already seen a lots of scam coins that only dev benefits and quit after selling their holdings,.
This actually depends on its devs, premine is really good to save up expenses but further results will really depend on dev.If their aims just to end up scam then you cant do anything about it but you still end up on holding shit coins. Mineable coins aren't guaranteed that they will not end scam that's why its really important for us to see its developers regarding on its transparency specially on the roadmap and don't forget about Escrowed funds which is most important thing specially on ICO's.

How do you perceive Mineable vs Not mineable coins? Does a Mineable coin less likely to be a scam? How does it affects its value?
Does Not Mineable coins have better chances of getting to a higher value?
Do you even consider this as a criteria when analyzing an altcoin?
What are your views?

minable coins are bad always bad, pow ensure that your coins is backed y something other than the value from investors, and pow miners also like to buy and become investors themselves, the distribution is also better but not always, because greedy farm can mine more, in egenral i tend to avoid ico scam and other that are not minable, but free distribution pos coins are not bad

Please don't be kidding me, bitcoin is mineable and it's PoW coin. And it's not a scam coin as you said.

How does it affects its value?
Depends on the usefulness of the coin itself. Litecoin is also mineable coin and he can be off-chain solution for bitcoin blocksize problem.
Does Not Mineable coins have better chances of getting to a higher value?
Yes.

Do you even consider this as a criteria when analyzing an altcoin?
Idea, innovation, and roadmap will much important than it.

Fair launch POW coins are the only ones that are not more than likely manipulated schemes for insiders.

Very well advertised, very long open ended ICO are next best especially with a POW period included.

Everything else is wide open to manipulation and insiders schemes.

Crypto is meant to be a trustless environment. POW fair launch is the only method so far that makes this almost possible. The only variable is electricity cost that is just about the only unfair advantage one can get here.

These new insta ico closed ended over in a flash ICO's are the latest way to scam and are far worse even than and instamine or a premine.

Dash is actually more transparent and fair compared to these new insta ico schemes.

question between mineable and non mineable is security. Many thinks that PoS simply dont work. You should learn more about Proof of Work and Proof of Stake and all other ways different coins secure their transactions.

You can learn it on some sites that discuss about altcoin  Cheesy Cheesy

these things never automatically make a coin good or bad, they should have a good plan.
for example being mineable in my opinion creates a better way of distribution granted it has no pre-mine and the block reward is properly designed. for example the first blocks shouldn't be a ridiculously big number and suddenly fall off.

not being mineable, should also have a solid plan for rewarding the coins. but usually they fail horribly in this step. they either give away a lot and kill the price, or they hold a lot of it for themselves (greedy devs) and kill the project after they made a lot of money.

i also liked the answer bathrobehero gave about different type of people who are attracted to mineable coins,...

Being mineable coin doesn't mean that altcoin will not scam.

There are few things to look at when investing in any altcoin:

1. Amount of coin pre-mined
2. Dev team behind
3. Roadmap
4. Escrow used for ICO
5. Total supply of coin and ICO price

yes sir
I feel the five things are very important before investing in altcoin
Because losses will easily arise if we can not predict the future of the coin

Glad you made that list. I think my question can be answered by this too;
How does the pre-mined amount affects? The less it is the less likely it is to be a scam?
And also same about the total supply of coin?

And how does ICO price factors?

I ignore every single non mineable coin not just because I'm a hobby miner, but mainly because non mineable coins have inferior initial coin distribution.

Mineable and non mineable coins also tend to attract different groups of people; ICOs generally attract gamblers/investors/cryptonewbies while mineable coins mostly attract enthusiasts/investors. Make no mistake, both groups are focusing on profits but they're different.

Coins created out of thin air by the dev for free and sold for an arbitrary price is just feels fake compared having to actually compete against other miners to get coins.

Not that mining is difficulty but it requires more than just giving some random anon dude money in exchange for a few pretty pictures and promises.

Mineables are shitcoins to me.

"According to VICE Motherboard, In June 2015 one Bitcoin transaction required the same amount of electricity as powering 1.57 American households for one day, of which the average sized home is approximately 2700 square feet."

https://blockgeeks.com/bitcoins-energy-consumption/

Mineable coins will always be more expensive for no good reason. Value will be drained to electric companies.

We're rushing towards cheap renewable energy partly of the electricity demand created by Bitcoin. And the faster we get there the better.

"no good reason" - other than better (at least initial) distribution, a much stronger network and decentralized control and the coin having a price floor as it costs a certain amount to mine them.
