Hi dragonmike,
did you reinstall drivers after flash those cards?
What PSU does it have? Try switch cards in raisers, for example switch GPU 2 with GPU 3. If you don't know what GPU it is, it should be the one which doesn't spin fans or they are spinning all the time, even when idle - that probably means bad drivers or bad raiser (maybe only bad connected).

You can use WattTool to see which clock goes to 300 and then force the fan speed 2400 and you will find it quickly.

Ah you mean that if gpu3 is faulty, I just press 3 and it'll disable it? That would then be easy to spot indeed...

Got two rigs powering 7 GPUs each on MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon's.

The first one runs flawlessly.

The second is giving me troubles: When starting Claymore, GPU3 is showing 0 MH/s. 30 seconds later, the PC crashes and reboots if I'm lucky.

What do you think? Gpu faulty? Riser? PSU?

How can I pinpoint which GPU it is from its numbering by Claymore?...

you can use 0,1,2 ... number keys to disable a gpu. after a while the closed gpu will be cooller and fans will stop.  not numpad keys the keys over letter keys

And will that tell me which physical GPU that is in my rig, i.e. Which pci-e slot?

You can enable the -di command and test the gpu one by one.
