Well then I was Lucky I guess. I did build it for 2500$.

Well then perhaps you got your 1070ti's way earlier than I did.  Mine were purchased at $500 each in mid December.  And currently a decent price for them is about $550-580 each.  The demand has spiked the price and it just keeps going up.

If you are concerned, you could just go with a 4 GPU rig and then add the last 2 GPUs after you get a feel for it to make sure it's something you like and can do.  Or even just start with 2.  But i think it's still worth it to get into the business if you can spare to invest a bit. I wouldn't over extend yourself thought because there could be some big bumps in the road and you will really never get the "estimated" values you see everywhere....those are just to get you to buy in and are usually the best case scenarios which you may get to after a month or two of figuring out all the hurdles and issues and problems.

Lol.  Estimates from calculators are not there to get you to buy in, you moron.  They are based on real calculations, but this isn't a stagnate market.  You can't take a calculation and say it's going to stay that way forever, because the market is going to move.

Gawd!

You don't know much about current gpu prices, do you?  My six gpu 1070ti rigs cost me $3500 to build and that was back when I got 1070ti's for $500 each.

Te change to PoS may indeed change it, but like said you can still change to different coins. 3500 $ is though quite expensive for aa rig (unless you do not build it yourself).

You can mine more than eth with either, so why do you care if/when they switch to pos?  I have (4) six gpu rigs and I'm still building, so that should tell you how to feel about the future.  Of course I could be wrong.

Hello everyone  Cheesy

I want to order a rig this week but It will be my first real mining experience and I still had some questions  Huh

Summary:

Mine ethereum with ~180Mh/s

RIG with or 6 x RX580 or 6 x GTX 1060 6GB (same MH/s almost )

1) Wich of these configuration will be the best price/conso/noise ? Noise is important because the rig will be in the room next where I sleep and there is a really thin wall

2) I have calculated the ROI that is around 5-6 month with te current price. I guess that it will increase back but does these ROI websites include the difficulty of calculation that is skyrocketing ?

3) Do you think It is a good moment to start to mine and invest in e a 3500$ machine ? Even if I think that the switch from POW to POS will not happened before end 2018 beginning 2019

Thank you

I am also interested in mining other altcoins
