Namecoin is not an altcoin.
It is a decentralized DNS system.
You're not listening. No one uses that aspect to it and it's just yet another altcoin now.

onename.io is using it. And some people use onename.io ... still i agree with you that's yet another alt coin in its core...

No, not really. All altcoins are basically not doing much. What we need is ONE good coin. Bitcoin is in good spot. As my predecessor said it is just pump and dump system with all other coins. We need to promote bitcon more, not dozen of various other coins.

All Alts are Shitcoins, and should be treated as such.

Most Scrypt miners that mine alts convert them to BTC anyways, so it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

Anybody pumping up Litecoin, Peercoin, Dogecoin, Reddcoin, Blackcoin etc are doing exactly that.  Pump and Dump schemes.

No one remotely cares about what namecoin was invented for. They only care for the monetised aspect of it which means it's just as irrelevant as any other altcoin. Historically it was early and first and had an original idea which is the only reason it is pseudo-accepted along with bitcoin, but that idea has long since died and it should be lumped in with the rest of the altcoins.

Namecoins are merge-mined with Bitcoins. So anyone who mines Bitcoins is also interested seeing Namecoin succeed.

So why is it that some invest millions in mining farms but no one cares about the success of Namecoin?

Namecoin is actually a very good project that enables decentralized DNS. It just needs a tiny bit of development and marketing. A few thousand dollars is all it takes.
