Yeah, you can earn Gridcoin http://www.gridcoin.us by crunching CPU BOINC projects with a laptop's CPU.

Keep in mind that letting computer parts run hot for a long time, will make break much quicker. Since laptops are pretty hot as they are, it's not recommended to use it for mining, it will die much quicker.

I highly recommend minergate if you want to mine using your laptop it will not heat up your laptop to a high temperature i have tried it myself on my own laptop in fact I can run it for straight 10 hours without my laptop getting harm

You can still solo mine Aeon with a laptop and find blocks. It is a CryptoNote coin designed to work with lower end devices.

Aeon shares a lead developer with Monero and many community members. You can learn more here:

Interesting, I will have a look at this. Thanks.

Dude, that would be fantastic but I don't think any of those exist--at least not anymore.  And I'm pretty sure if you could find one these days it wouldn't be worth shit, because most altcoins aren't.  They're all headed toward zero eventually, except for the big ones.

Agree with you mate, I try this one a month ago bought a laptop to try mining, i did try minergates and nicehash but I noticed that I'm not getting anything the amount of the coins not enough to cover expenses i did try it with diff alt coins from minergates but nothing happens. so decided to stop and do faucet and ptc instead to cover my expenses,.

Is there any altcoin out there which is possible to mine with an avarage laptop? I am not looking for high profit or income, my only intention is getting some experience with altcoin mining.
