1, Which cat6 cables are people using to avoid interference and crosstalk between devices? So many different cables: stp, utp, ftp.. It is driving me nuts
2. Which router is good enough? Ubiquiti Networks EdgeRouter X SFP or TP-Link TL-ER604W, the tp-link does have WiFi which I will turn of if possible.
3. Are longer power cables (c13) a bad thing, increased heat/fire possibility? (3 meters vs 5 meters)
4. As switches I am going to order two 24 ports switches: Tp-link tl-sf1024 or tl-sf1024d. Any problems with these?
1. In my opinion, CAT 5 cables are good enough. I honestly don't understand much about the technical details behind CAT 5 vs 6 but the 5 works just fine for my rigs.
3. They say that the longer the cables the slower it is, etc etc. But honestly speaking from experience (i have a 30 METER cat 5 cable for two (2) of my rigs), they work just fine. I just touched the cable and they are not hot at all. Been running stable and problem free for a few months now.
I also think that cat 5 is more than enough, anyway mining does not require large bandwidth.
