Most motherboards have an onboard video, unless you are gaming you should just use the onboard video card to browse/surf the web. You need to go to your BIOS and enable onboard video in your BIOS because when the motherboard detects a GPU, it automatically disables it.

Which motherboard do you have exactly?

If you don't have onboard video, then you can browse with one of the mining GPUs but you should disable them when you are browsing because you will run into crashes due to instability. Even surfing the web can cause the mining GPUs to easily crash. If using Claymore just hit "0" or "1" and it will disable the GPU.

I have the MSI B450. I have both connected, but my PCI-E cable was defective so I should get another one tomorrow. I am mining only RVN currently but might change to ETH with the 2070Super, but unlikely. Rather just keep it nice and easy. I will be setting this up once that cable come in.

I don't use the computer for much other than a game night once a week and random flight sim here and there.

Totally possible to use both cards

You can connect both directly to your motherboard, or even better, you can buy a riser cable

On my personal desktop I have a 5700xt directly connected to the motherboard and a  GTX 1660 connected with riser and I put on the side of my pc
I use both to mine and if I need to use some program that demands more power, I just close the miner of 5700xt and let 1660 mining alone

I suggest you buy another motherboard for that super 2070 GPU, if you try using the card and mining with the 1070ti on a single motherboard it will affect the 1070ti you are using to mine by marginally, can cut off hashrate by 50% or even make your PC shut down

There's no need to buy a new motherboard (with a new one you'll need a new CPU, ram, ssd, PSU etc), it's a waste of money and electricity
You can run 2 miners, one for each card and won't affect any other card for mining
If you are mining and your PC is lagging, please post here all info and we can help you

I use here: Ryzen 1700 - Mining XMR
5700xt - mining ETH
1660 - Mining RVN
HDD 1 TB - Mining MASS

I can use the PC all day without any error, I just decrease the intensity of CPU miner when using

I'm currently waiting on a non-defect PCI-E cable since the one I ordered wouldn't fit into the power supply. I am going to try to set this up tomorrow before I leave for the week. I think I should be able to run both from what I've read here, just have to make sure I only use one for mining, unless I want to get a little freaky and get both at the same time.

I'll keep updating here.

Here with Windows 10 + rx 5700xt I can use internet, youtube, design programs etc normally, without need to close the miner.
Only high demand programs need to disable the miner

It depends of the CPU and ram too, if you have only a celeron with 4gb for example, maybe it's hard to manage but with a Ryzen 1700 and 16gb ram + nvme SSD that I have, totally possible

I'm currently mining off a 1070 ti, but have a 2070 super on the way.

Is there a way I can run my monitors/computer off the 2070 super and continue mining on the 1070 ti?
Motherboard has two gpu inputs, but when it comes to actually running them together I cannot find a straight answer.

Any advice appreciated.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to do that. You can have as many gpus as you want in your system, even mixing AMD and NVIDIA, and only one gpu will be used for rendering.

As long as you tell the mining software to only use the 1070Ti, you should be fine in my opinion

And by the way what do you tend to run on that 2070? Music or video? Naah you won't get any good results, there will be lags and your PC will fail to respond, once mining starts it's better to leave the PC alone, I've tried this and I sometimes have to force reboot my PC
